Defensive Valter?

I found out what my flier team needs; A good defensive duelist. I figured Valter was the only one good enough to take on this role.
Would Defense+3, Bonfire, Vantage, and the Close Def sacred seal be good for him?? My only other tank flier is Scamilla but she can’t really combat close range

Woah woah woah, NOW i had an idea. Imagine this Valter with Steady Breath? (I have a +Hp -Spd ?️ike that i got to lv40 and with max HM). Yay or nay?

Flying and Horse units can't have Steady Breath, so...

Why don't you give him Fury 3 and Vantage/Renewal/Desperation ? His speed isn't that bad and, with Renewal, he can heal himself. I want to use my Valter like that, but Hinata hates me (so, no fury).

Mmm that could work, I just went Def+3 as a budget option for now since 1 Hinata hates me and 2 The chip damage will wear him down a lot. Still, thanks for the help, I'll consider it :p

This might sound crazy, but I actually run a Triangle Adept Vantage build for my Valter. He stomps all red units into dust.

Valter works very well as an enemy phase unit, particularly with flier buffs. I run him with renewal and ardent sacrifice to serve as a chain battle healer. A slot is pretty flexible; Defense +3, Fury, or Iote's shield (for baiting archers in a pinch, although Gronnraven TA SCamilla would probably fit that role better) would all work as budget options. Earth boost might work too if you really want to maximize his def at the risk of consistency.
