Defensive Counter Attack Specials

Since there is Aether (Luna + Sol), I would like to see IS introduce defensive hybrid specials based around the defense stats like a merge of Pavise + Bonfire (well Escutcheon if 50% dmg reduced is too much) and Aegis + Iceberg (or Sacred Cowl respectively):

when foe initiates combat, reduces damage from adjacent foe's attack by 30% and unit will make a guaranteed follow up attack with damage dealt boosted by 50% of unit's Def

if foe's range = 2, reduces damage from that foe's attack by 30% and unit will make a guaranteed follow up attack with damage dealt boosted by 50% of unit's Res

If it seems powercrept, I don't think it matters too much since they are doing that already with some new units they've been adding... but man I would love to see something like these. 5 count charge, 5* exclusive and inheritable... and maybe.. available for use to both melee and ranged units if Distant & Close Counter skills are used...

Hmm....

I like the general idea, but the "guaranteed follow-up attack" part is a bit much in my opinion, and I don't really like the idea of "Let's solve powercreep with more powercreep!" since that's pretty much a never-ending cycle of 'let's make everything broken to make the game balanced' which doesn't bode well with me.

And 5* exclusive skills? Yeah, I can see myself passing on these skills, lol. Don't think I'd try to pull units for these skills. If I randomly got the unit then sure, but I'd rather them be available on units that can be promoted to 5* for the full skill evolution, or just not even try to get the skill at all, lol.

Then maybe the Bonfire/Iceberg effect is on unit's next attack after getting hit /reducing damage. Enemy's attack procs the special and it holds until your next attack, like Galeforce

Well that would be even better.. I would rather it be on a new 4* but only available when that unit is promoted to 5*. I only said that initially because I don't realistically think IS would be that generous about giving us a new over powered special that easily ; )

Having it on a 4* unit, but the skill is only available on at 5*...

Yeah, I like that idea, but you might be right on the IS not even making it available unless it's on a 5* exclusive unit.

But who knows, we did get Takumi as a free 4*. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
