Defeated by own arrogance

For me, it's not so much as arrogance but laziness in terms of not checking for everything that could ruin my run. I mean dancers can be a given but sometimes I charge into a unit whose got vantage.

Pretty often. Usually I've missed something unusual having WoM and then get a Hector in the face that I wasn't expecting. I lost Brave Lyn in my 7th battle in the arena because I assumed she'd have no issue doubling Sakura, turns out she couldn't which allowed Black Knight to WoM over and kill her. I was very annoyed at myself.

EDIT: I can add Drag Back to that list, just lost out in TT because Eirika dragged Hinoka back into Elincia. Elincia and Sothe the destroyer then devastated everything else leaving me with a damaged Masked Marth and Minerva for the final battle.

Ugh, galeforce. Such an obnoxious move when I don't check for it.

Don't feel too bad. I would have assumed that my Effie could have tanked a Lon'qu as well.

I keep getting walloped by Wings of Mercy, just like everyone else, but then I also have my laziness-induced KOes, were I just don't check the opponent's skills, or I just choke up on an easy play and double tap, ending my Soleil's turn in range of a Reinhardt or something dumb like that.

One time my Zelgius got quadded by a B!Lyn and somehow died even with his massive Def (Mine's +Def -Spd w/Steady Breath) I was so mad lmao, i think it was exact damage too

I usually get defeated by my own laziness. That's why I stick to easy match ups in arena. Too lazy to check out the enemy's passives.

I usually scope out my foes before a battle but sometimes interesting builds defeat me because I didn’t consider how they would actually perform in battle.

Case in point - this Mist. I realised the build was unique but didn’t think about how it would operate and it caused me to lose two units in the process. Enemy phase builds won’t work against it because of the dazzling effect and on player phase her defence and skills nullify slower attackers like mine.

Forgetting that Brave Lyn's Mulagir nullifies visible buffs on mages. So much for Def buffs on my magic users...

As for WoM, yeah, that wrecks me sometimes. However, sometimes WoM becomes my enemy's undoing, like when BK warps to a teammate's side...and my Nowi's waiting for him. >:3
