I have only one normal Hector, but I feel like that if I ever summon a Brave Ephraim, I might fodder off Hector to him for DC. Which of the two is better? I myself feel like the Garm and Special Fighter combo is much stronger than what normal Hector can do.
Of the two, you mean B!Ephraim or regular Hector?
Easy, B!Ephraim is better, but I'm not sure if Distant Counter is the 'best' option for him, especially if the IVs are 'less than stellar' for the job.
And, just as a side-note, maybe you should consider giving it to a merge project. :o
I might give DC to Ares, but I don't have one and I'm already content with Brave Roy. I still need to complete my Armor Emblem (check my other questions to find what my Armor Emblem is). Also, when will A Hero Rises 2 start? I've seen a discussion post about it and many people seem to want Legendary Hector as the free unit.
I definitely prefer B.Ephraim too due to special fighter and no HP requirement on his dual phase forced double. The only green armour who is maybe as tanky as him is L.Hector due to blocking doubles arbitrarily (therefore no need for special fighter if you have enough spd to block bold fighters)
Yeah, Brave Ephraim is better by a long shot to be perfectly honest, but with Special Fighter effectively granting Guard, Ephraim may not really need DC, as the units you'd normally tank with B!Ephraim can't even charge their Special against him anymore; a Bond or Brazen skill can be quite potent as well, in my opinion
The argument can be made, but I would say no. It's not like brazen + QR where the window is extremely narrow in which both are active. B.Ephraim has a margin of something like 15HP in which both skills are active, and if he's doing something like brazen def/res, he just might sit in that window for the rest of the battle because his defenses will be so high. Admittedly, it can be a little bit difficult to find that window if you can't take hits from the right opponent, but I don't think it's nearly as unlikely as brazen+QR, in which case I think it's borderline impossible to have both active for more than one battle. All of these being said, I don't know how much I like a brazen on him.
As for summoning, I don't recommend firing a single orb at this banner because you'll probably pay more orbs for them than if you wait for them to reappear on a banner with only three focus units (or even some hero fest).
Saving orbs for H.Jakob is a good idea. He probably won't appear on another legendary banner for, what, 7-8 months? And he's sharing the focus rate with three other heroes on the Halloween banner (but he shares colour with H.Sakura so you're likely to get them both within something like 155-170 orbs)
