I've been seeing a lot of talk lately of the game becoming stale, not updating as often as they'd like, or simply just not holding their attention like it used to. I still find the game very enjoyable, but I can completely understand the other side of the coin. I've been an observer (and sometimes participant) on this site almost since the game came out, and I've seen lots of names I still remember come and go. It is a little disheartening seeing people who were once so active simply fade away and rarely return. Obviously everyone has their own reasons and sometimes life just changes for them, even if for the better. But I still enjoy seeing a strong community that can come together with a common interest. In our case: FEH.
So to get to my point, perhaps there is a way that we as a community can take these matters into our own hands and make the game more enjoyable for those who aren't getting the excitement they used to. Instead of bemoaning the current state of game, we can shape it our own way. So I suggest we run Community Quests. Basically specific scenarios or goals to accomplish for any given day that are almost too specific for IS to ever implement. Some could even be more akin to achievements. I'm sure this idea might already exist, but I still think it's worth throwing out there again. This way we can provide things to do for those who want more out of the game, while also getting to put to use all of our benchwarmers. The problem obviously lies in the fact that there are no substantial rewards for our efforts, and you need the want to actually do it in the first place. So perhaps this will fall flat on it's face or fade into obscurity, but the idea is on the table, so I'd like to hear thoughts and feelings. (Sorry if this came off dramatic)
