close defense or heavy blade on zelgius

close defense makes him impervious to physical attacks, while heavy blade synergizes with the spd smoke i have on him & acts as a budget bold fighter, but he takes more damage from lances which could knock him out of warp powder range

thoughts?

I would go with Close Defense. He is more enemy phase, so Heavy Blade won't see quite as much use. Heavy Blade will also be useless if you ever put Bold Fighter on him too, so I think Close Defense will be suitable until you can hopefully get some nice Steady/Warding Breath fodder. Well Heavy Blade won't stack and its player phase will be limited (though warp powder will help) so I would still go with Close Defense. I think Quick Riposte would be the best option for a seal if you're using Warp Powder though.

Heavy blade doesn't stack with Warding Breath... so close def.
Quick riposte and Distant Def would be superior choices though.
