Children of Fates
So it looks like we get 2 new Nohrian units and 2 new Hoshidan units.
Rahjat
HP 36, Atk 35, Spd 34, Def 21, Res 24, BST 150
Effectively Green Tharja. Has very similar offensive defensive bulk, but having slightly higher Attack and bulk seems to have been swapped with extra point for each. As a natural user of Keen Gronnwolf, she is an excellent check for Reinhardt and every other popular cavalry unit. And... of course she can be made into an excellent user of Gronnblade as well. In terms of offensive stats, she is in between Nino and Summer Elise.
Tharja, meet your reincarnation. Rahjat, meet your original. (Oh god, why? The sly snickers... I can hear it now...)
Soleil
HP 37, Atk 38, Spd 35, Def 28, Res 24, BST 162
Chrom is no longer the strongest Sword user in the game. With amazing offensive spread for a Sword infantry, Soleil definitely surpasses Chrom and other Sword units in the game. She's not Ayra/Mia-Tier, but definitely earns the attention for being our new strongest Sword user. Likewise, she can run the usual Brave Sword build with either Attack or Speed boon. She is tied with Cherche for having the second highest Attack stat in the game, only surpassed by Effie who has a base 40 Attack.
She also naturally comes with Firesweep Sword+, which screams Speed boon if you want to use it effectively. Her bulk is very closely similar of that of Mia's.
Shiro
HP 41, Atk 35, Spd 30, Def 35, Res 22, BST 163
Shiro is the very definition of a Enemy Phase unit whose personal weapon has a combined effects of Fierce and Steady Stance 2 (fusion stance skills foreshadowed?). He also naturally comes with Steady Stance 3 which was previously exclusive to the Black Knight (and if you foddered him off back then... how much do you regret now?) Seeing how he functions as an Enemy Phase unit, he is extremely physically tanky and makes it impossible for either Mia or Ayra to 1RKO him.
Shiro is definitely no slouch and he is probably much better than Lukas. However, Lukas has his own advantages for having one of the greatest Def stats in the game along with Arden who hits very hard with Ignis. But with Shiro's weapon being a fusion of Fierce/Steady Stance 2, his Def is actually tied with them. He can also run Close Def seal to make his physical tanking potential go even further!
Siegbert
HP 41, Atk 34, Spd 35, Def 31, Res 16, BST 157
The son of Xander, Siegbert, joins the fray. He is one of the fastest cavalier along with Brave Lyn. His personal weapon has the effects of Swift Sparrow 2, which means that he is designed to be a Player Phase unit; the exact opposite of Xander and Shiro. By slapping Swift Sparrow skill itself, Siegbert gains a boastful Atk/Spd+8 before cavalry buffs, which is insane!
Siegbert naturally comes with Death Blow opposed to Swift Sparrow, but that's also fine.

So which units are you most hyped about? For me, I'm definitely leaning towards Soleil and Shiro. Shiiiiiiroooooooo!!!

This is imho finally a banner where there are no really must-have units. I don't know all their base skills that they come with, so take my opinion with this in consideration. Rahjat will get demoted (most likely), Soleil is awesome, but still not better than Ayra, Shiro (probably the best unit) is not much better than our tanklord Lukas, who imho just slightly wins because of slaying lance. Seigbert looks like fun, but Brave Roy is probably still more optimal as a red sweeper.
It might be caused by the fact that Fates is my least favorite game in the franchise, but I don't see any must-have units here, which is actually awesome, because it could mean that IS have toned down their powecreep madness.
