Changing IV'S with merging question

I want to know if for example, I have a +1 Ryoma with -atk +spd, and an unmerged Ryoma with +spd -def, if I merge the unmerged Ryoma would he become a +2 with +spd or -def?

You can merge any unit with another of themselves no matter the merge. You get the merge amount combined by the total of the two units and you keep the IVs of the one being merged on.

So yes, you'll have a +2 Ryoma with +Spd -Def if you choose to merge your +1 onto the other.

You can also do that with +10 units to change their IVs even though they're maxed.

Above nailed it...but there are two ‘gotchas’ you might want to plan for, as I’ve goofed these before:
- The new character (the one whose IVs you want to keep) will not inherit all the SP of the incoming unit. So, if you have a ton of SP on the ‘fodder’ unit, spend it first if you can.
- The new character (with the good IVs), will determine the level of the merged character. If this unit is in your core teams, be ready to level them back up to 40 first.
Have fun!
