Catria merge project

So with my Fir merge project nearing completion (also my first ever merge project), currently only need to summon 2 more copies. I started thinking about who should I start thinking about merging next. And when it came to blue Catria was about the only readily available character that I like enough to want to merge her, Tailtiu probably would be the other choice. I'd love to make Micaiah or Ishtar a merge project but given their 5* exclusive I'll remain happy that I have a copy of both of them at least. And today I pulled a +spd/-res Catria, it's like the game was saying "You want to make her a merge project? Well here's possibly the best iv spread on her possible."

The question is how should I build her, currently only have 20k feathers so I feel it might take a while for her set to be complete? I was leaning toward Firesweep as I don't really have a unit currently running it? But not sure what some of her skill slots should be? Especially A, should I wait for LnD or give her Atk/Spd Push or Swift Sparrow (I have an extra S!Tana and SF!Nino)?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

If you're going with Firesweep, then Life and Death is arguably the best A skill for it. Firesweep units shouldn't be getting attacked since they can't counterattack, and it increases attack and speed, the only two stats that matter on them.

You could also go with Harmonic Lance for the extra 10 damage on special triggers, or just keep her Slaying Lance and, if you want, go for a Desperation build.

I still haven't even seen a Shigure as of yet, I at least have a Roderick sitting around. And unfortunately I'm having a major Shanna shortage. Hopefully once I've completed Fir and can make blue my main summoning color for Catrias maybe more Shannas will start to show up again. And I at least have Hanas sitting around, obviously not the ideal way to give her LnD but it's a fallback option.

It took me about half the time it would take to finish a +10 since I had 5 5* copies of her for awhile before she got demoted, but I finally finished her build last month with the addition of Berkut's Lance and switching her iv from +atk-res to +atk-hp to top off the 40 res when she gets hit. She's just awesome. I want to eventually build the other two sisters

Catria you say.

Depends on how you want to use her. I would argue that her most Optimal IVs are -HP/+Res.

She is my current (and first) true merge project, though I am fishing for the right IVs (using +Spd/-HP and it works well, but it can be a lot better).

Firesweep is just bad on Catria; she is outclassed by many other units of her move type. Cartria has one advantage over other blue fliers: good offense and defence. Sadly, this makes her best weapons seasonal locked. I'm going to assume you don't have good lance fodder to spare, but if you do, shell lance and tannenboom make good of her balanced stat spread. For budget, regular slaying lance and slaying spear are strong options.

Her best A skills are fury, swift sparrow and DC. Fury for mixed phase, swift sparrow for player phase and DC for enemy phase.

For the B slot use QR, aerobatics or desperation.
All other skills really depends on what your team needs.
I recommend +atk over +speed because Catria can have issues with killing in high end arena.
This is the build I run.

As I said, she is outclassed by other units with firesweep. Other builds make use of Catria's advantages. A +10 merged Catria should make use of all stats from being merged. Focusing on just two stats is only acceptable for unmerged units. Catria's defence is her only advantage over units like Shigure and Cordelia, a firesweep build removes her unique niche.
I like to run builds that show the units strengths, rather than use uncreative builds that are just copy and paste from unit to unit.

But the purpose of the OP using Catria wasn't to make the most "optimized" skill set, it's because they have a lot of Catria's and they like her enough to merge her. Lots of units outclass other units, but that doesn't make them trash because of it. Lon'Qu is outclassed by arguably every sword unit in the game, but that doesn't mean that every sword you put on him is bad.

A +10 merged unit doesn't really have to utilize every stat, especially at the hands of the player. If we're talking about the AI on the other hand, then that's a different story since it doesn't make the "best" decisions.

I understand wanting to run builds that are "creative" instead of the "copy and paste" builds that are all over the place (Firesweep + L&D, Fury + Desp, etc) but just because it's not creative doesn't mean it's a bad build.

Looking back on it, "bad" was a poor word choice for describing firesweep Catria, not worth the feathers was a more appropriate description. I feel slaying lance is superior in most cases.

A +10 merged will likely match up with high tier armor units, their high bulk makes killing them inconsistent with weapons other than armor slaying weapons, this means surviving a round on enemy phase and being able to retaliate is important. This makes all stats important for arena play. Checking the build you've shown, I ran a simulation against a red at the level a +10 Catria will likely be scoring, a +10 Catria needs a attack tactic buff to kill +10 Zelgius with firesweep.

They asked for builds, I answered with builds I believe in and use regularly.

To clarify, I don't think firesweep is unusable, I just feel most lances work better on Catria.
