Can't get out of tier 18

Been playing since launch and Ive been going back and forth between tier 17 and 18. Only recently have I ever been offered an advanced fight above 700. I won 2 696 fights, a 700 fight and 2 fights between 700 and 710, can't remember the exact values, without a single unit dying. Still, Im 3000 ranks above the cut off to progress. Why is it impossible for me to get into tier 19?

Are you using 5* merged units? Units with "high BST" don't exactly matter too much when going from Tier 18 to Tier 19, so you probably need more merges, especially now since Arena was made easier and encourages people to actually try a bit.

I think you can make it into t19 with armor emblem unmerged, or heck, I made it with horse emblem a couple times (I drop because t20 isnt worth it imo right now) I think it's in large part skills and BST. You cant go in with a 5*batre with A skill Atk +3, no assist and no C skill (which I saw in t18 last month or so) and get t19. Also to my knowledge units with blessing corresponding to a legendary hero on that team *cough cough* Fjorm gains extra points so the threshold is higher when f2p legendary units are bonus

If you post your team with the skills each unit carries, I think that we can figure out why that's the case.

As a general rule of thumb: Armor > Infantry / Flier > Cavalry when it comes to Arena scoring. Ranged units also score less than Melee units.

I switch between Tier 18 and 19 and I basically use an unmerged armor team - usually score right under 3500 now and I almost never have trouble getting into Tier 19 on my off weeks.

My only advice would be don't be afraid to re-roll if you get too-low of Arena scores and maybe look into utilizing Legendary heroes and blessings since those stat boosts translate over to scoring as well (I think)

Also I feel like a big part of scoring in these tiers is whether you have a decent bonus unit, so don't be afraid to invest in high-scoring skills for the Askr trio

I'm making it with low BST units. Bridal Cordelia+1, inigo+1, Ike+5, fjorm. Rank 4600ish going into tier 19. Definitely don't need armors or anything fancy.

The only way to pass to 18-19 is making 705 points per battle, below that you only get 17-18. Well, you will need some merges, high sp skills (aether, rally double stats) and hero with great bst (above 160) to make a safe T19.

I am running 3 infantry plus a stock Effie as my bonus unit right now. My team has 12 merges and I have two units running Aether. I'm pretty consistently hitting 705 per battle and I only just made it to tier 19 last week.

The curve is pretty tight, I suspect that you might gain several hundred places with only one or two merges.

You need merged units and some high-cost inherited skills to boost your score. It is getting more and more difficult staying up or moving up tiers. I remember dropping from tier 19 to 18 when they changed the arena from 7 streaks to 5. It was a WTF moment as it never happened to me before. I am constantly between tier 19 and 20. Tier 19.5 for life:)

Since doing merges I went from averaging 705 per game(which wasn't enough to stay in tier 19) to 716 - 720. For reference, the last arena round I used 4* Effie +9(bonus unit), 5* Reinhardt +9, 5*Black Knight +2, and *5 Fae +5. My score was comfortable enough to reach tier 20, but won't be enough to stay there for sure.
