Cannot be merged units
I honestly think the units who you can't merge for bonus stats like Alfonse, Sharena and Anna to have a bit higher stats than the heroes you summon since it'd be more rewarding. These units I feel like I always outclassed, everyone hates on Alfonse because he's slow and yeah that's understandable but maybe to compensate for his lesser speed stat, they could've at least increased his physical defense to 36-38 and HP to 46 or 48. That'll at least make him last longer and sustain better damage against the sword lords.
Sharena seems balanced but I think her defense and speed can be just a bit higher. Maybe 35 for both or 33 on her defense.
Anna's base speed of 38 isn't exactly enough to avoid the notoriously fast units assuming they have life and death with + stats. Maybe they could emphasize on her glass cannon status and up her speed to 41 and attack a bit to 50.
Again, these are the kinds of buffs I'd like to see to these units because they don't get the benefits of bonus stats from merging like most of the other characters do, which makes them outclassed by them in every way possible.
I would include the heroes from Grand hero battles but that can be debatable.

They are the starters. F2p here, i stopped using all of them week 1. Theres so many heroes to choose from and Shareena is still a solid lance infantry unit. I suppose its normal for a starter pack to have one good unit and several lackluster units so players are encouraged to play the dice getting other units.

Are you really trying to say that (Anna) 46 attack and 38 speed without skills is not enough? What kind of god-tier-game-breaking units did you want them to be? Both Anna and Sharena are fantastic, but Alfonse does lack quite a bit. They might as well be giving away +10s if they were to make this a thing. But i also don't see why people claim that the trio "require a lot of work" to make into a 5*. If you're lazy, just use crystals. Even then, you're guaranteed like 600 SP at lvl 1 5*, assuming you used crystals and nothing more. If you manually grind them to level 30ish (which takes no more than a few hours, even without using potions) a day, you're guaranteed to have quite a stack of SP for set-building. There is no need to make them "more rewarding". I have a 5* Anna and 5* Sharena, along with 4* Alfonse (Would 5*, but the poor bastard is really no use), so i think i can say that "the grinding" was nowhere near as bad as people claim it to be. As a matter of fact, the units far exceeded my expectations from my initial belief on how they would fare. Sharena's utility both as an offensive in the current red-based meta as well as her amazing support availability and overall balanced stats is more than what you could ask for for a unit who is given to everyone. Anna is also just a monster. You try to pass off the argument that she can't stop a + unit with Life and Death as if it somehow lowers her value. Umm? She's got the 2nd highest (Neutral) speed in the game. If you're that concerned, just give HER Life and Death 3 and see how that plays out.
Unless you're throwing hundreds of dollars at this game on a daily basis, these units are pretty damn good. And if you are throwing that much money at this game, what are you doing?

Got a little shook writing this, i just don't see how someone can really complain about (2/3) of these units when they're handed to you on a silver platter and are still quite good.

This is my own personal opinion, Anna yes offensive stats of 48/38 is really good for a neutral unit but because of other units like Minerva who performs similar action but can be merged to increase stats by 4 at +10 basically overshadows Anna and she can still be doubled depending on how crazy a person is to 5* 10 Nino's and merge em all together and makes her incredibly fast with life and death. Alfonse is lacking no doubt because for a hard hitting bruiser his defense needs to be increased just so he can at least take some hits, physical not magical. Sharena is balanced of course but 32 speed and average defense stat of 29 could just be slightly higher.
By the way, the game is already completely destroyed because of skill inheritance breaking unit's uniqueness. Although I do like finally using my favorite units who got screwed in their starting skills, Every mage basically has either the raven tomes with triangle adept or blade tomes with a team filled with stat buffers which makes them ridiculously overpowered, NOT fun to deal with when going for a deathless run in the arena, especially with the dancers and singers. I apologize if I complain too much, but another unit I look at is Lucina, because Lucina has unnaturally high speed for someone who takes chunks off your HP with a neutral attack stat of 50.
I'm not saying the three main lords aren't good, I'm just saying they should at least get some benefits so that they aren't completely overshadowed.
