Canas is not that bad

So I’ve been seeing Canas on a lot of ‘Worst Heroes’ lists but he’s actually not that bad. I’ve been using him as my boosted unit in TT since I don’t feel like using my orbs to pull anyone else but he’s been a pleasent surprise.

If I were to give him Atk/Spd Bond, Life and Death 3, Swift Sparrow 2 or even Fury, he would be fast enough to double many units and his high res (even with the debuff from L&D) allows him to effectively use ploy skills to secure more doubles, make him more bulky, increase his dmg output.

Ideally I would give him a +speed seal but all 3 are currently being used by other units.

Canas is REALLY, REALLY bad. If you want to use him, go ahead, but he is truly bad.
No boon/bane, only 1 merges until god-knows-when.
Literally, only "VERY SLIGHTLY" better stats than raigh, one of the worst units in the game (again, he even has merge and boon-banes in his favor).
You can't use the statment of "in tt bonus unit" he has literally +10/+4/+4/+4/+4 to stats in the TT, of course he will be good there, but out of tt? he is completly useless.
If you are gonna give him atk/spd bond or swift sparrow, its a waste of resources unless you really like him, LnD not that much because it is now avaible at 4* with sothe.

It can be good? ANY UNIT IN GAME CAN BE GOOD WITH A DECENT INVESTMENT, that is no surprise.
Relatively, he is the worst red mage in the game, the worst red unit IMO.

The title of "worst red mage" doesn't come from him being a bad unit, again, he can be good, everybody can be a decent unit with investment. But relative to every other red mage, he is worse.

Completely useless? Huh? Have you even tried to build him in any way, shape, or form? I understand people not liking his stat spread, but to say that he's completely useless is a huge stretch in pretty much every way. Yes, his stats are pretty mediocre, but if you actually build him on what he has, which is his Owl tome, then he really isn't as "useless" are you are trying to make him out to be.

And by the way, contrary to apparent popular belief, Raigh can actually be made into a good unit.

Don't knock it 'til you try it.

I have a Sanaki, Celica, M!Morgan, L!Eirika, Arvis and Tharja. Canas isn’t any better/worse, he’s different.

Imo he plays like a Sanaki/Lilina (res tank/one-hit cannon) but with less attack and more more speed so his dmg comes from doubling as opposed to blowing you up with one big attack.

You might say his stat spread is mediocre but that really depends on how you want to build him. As an offensive cannon his stat spread isn’t as good as a Celica or Tharja but as an Owl Tome user who has a stromg enemy phase and can also serve as a magic tank, his stat spread is amazing.

Yes merges can be an issue but even with little skill investment he is a very good F2P unit.

Canas is overshadowed by other units. That's something that can't be denied.
However.
That doesn't mean he's bad, there are few units in heroes who're truely bad.

The big thing Canas has going for him is that owl tome is the prefect normal tome for him. His stats are thinly spread, but with that tome and good skills he can do a lot.
I'm using my Canas with atk/spd bond as a bait unit
