Aside from the Heavy Blade 3 seal, which he doesn't use very well, this is a great build. I personally prefer the Steady Breath build (which I use), but if I had an extra Hector, this would definitely be the build (and IV's) I'd go with.

Looks good, nice job. The only thing that’s bugging me is Heavy Blade seal. I don’t think his Attack is high enough to reliably use it.

Since Roy’s strength lies in his defenses, I’d opt for Close or Distant Defense instead. That would make him extremely hard to hurt on enemy phase.

I think that's why they're running Attack Smoke, to debuff the enemy's attacks to get Roy's attack stat above theirs, thus triggering Heavy Blade.

Yeah, if that's what Atk Smoke and Heavy Blade is there for then I'd have to agree that something else to increase his defense, like DD/CD, would be more beneficial, at least for him.

I appreciate the feedback. So far, the Atk Smoke 3 and Heavy Blade 3 works really well together, but I do feel as though a defense and resistance increase would be beneficial, like DD/CD

Well, you know what they say — if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Real experience beats theory, so if Heavy Blade is working just fine with Atk Smoke, I see no reason to change it. :)

Nevertheless, seals allow for experimentation. If you like, give CD/DD a spin and see what it does for him. +10 Def/Res on enemy phase sounds pretty awesome.
