Honestly I would love some fe4 for halloween or something other than fates but it will probably be xander and ryoma cause why not.

I just can't bring myself to like such loathsome characters, but I see your point. Maybe a pre-possession Julius alt would work for both?

I feel like I can enjoy some of these older characters more thanks to not knowing anything about them other than what's in Heroes.

Sort of related, I use Fallen Takumi a good bit, since he's a great unit, even though he makes me sad because he reminds me of that part in Fates.

Sometimes it's better not to know the story behind the characters.

OTOH, a big part of the reason I get such a kick out of all the seasonal Xanders is because of what a stoic, tragic, serious character Xander is in Fates. "Yes, yes, your father's a madman and you're duty-bound to serve him anyway and you're going to die for it. Now strip and hit people with this pool toy!"
