Can a unit inherit the killing lance/killing lance + and promote to slaying lace, or do you need to bump the fodder unity to slaying lance in order to inherit it?

I'm working on a Finn build for my horse emblem since I wanted to take a chance on less seen horse emblem characters, but I want him to have a slaying lance. However, I don't have a slaying lance laying around I can afford to loose - but I do have some killing lances. Do I need to upgrade the unit with the killing lance to slaying lance before I give it to Finn, or can I just give Finn the killing lance and he can learn slaying lance himself?

You can just give Finn Killing Lance+ and then refine it to Slaying Lance+

Okay, thank you! I wasn't sure if I needed to refine it ahead of time or just hand it over and he could do it himself.

You can actually do it both ways. So if you're wanting Unit A to inherit Slaying Lance from Unit B, then Unit A can inherit Killer Lance, Killer Lance+, and Slaying Lance+

Or you could do like I previously said and just give Unit A Killer Lance+ and refine it that way. You just can't give Unit A Slaying Lance+ with a refinement to one of the 4 stats.

I've given Killer Lance+ from my 5* Perrys (so glad it wont happen again) and they can be refined to Slaying lance +
