Guess I will start. I know some seem to want orochi so i will start there. Below average hp, average attack, above average speed, average def, and high res. She could come with an inheritable tome that is a scroll of some sort that gives a bonus to stats. Like one that adds +3 attack and effective against beasts, calvary, or armored.i also imagine her having an a skill that gives her a boost to attack and res. A b skill that lets her perhaps restore up to 20 hp every 3 turns? Oh and for support rally res +. Her c skill would be a skill that can increase allies stats in some form

Nobody ever said it was hard. Although i think lethe would have something like Darting claw or fierce claw + which would add attack or speed when under attack. Or both. Also instead of transform, i think there would be more like a new speed related special she would use, or glimmer. And yeah i agree with beorc guard. Or maybe her weapon could have that? Also her hp would probs be really high, like 50 or more, above average attack, high speed and low def and res.

I've been very leaning towards how I think laguz should be handled in feh, to the point of near obsession.

Green Dagger is just a placeholder for whatever else.
Claw would be an irremovable PRF with no effects.
Transform would also be an irremovable PRF special with 6 charges. It would function differently from other specials, in that every turn, or any time the laguz is attacked or attacks, the charge would lower by 1, and once it's fully charged, the unit would immediately change to laguz mode, and this could happen in the middle of an enemy phase between enemy units moving, and once transformed, the special would count down again.

Furthermore laguz wouldnt be able to initiate an attack or counter attack while un-transformed,, while on the flip side, while being transformed, they would gain something like +4 to each stat to compensate for them being useless for around half of their field time, making them both easy targets and major threats.

All in all, the general idea is to have a new unit type that isn't just "set and forget" like 90% of the units in the game. Something that takes an active mindset to use, while also punishing players that just click "end turn".

But what will most likely happen is just beast stones, which I think would be absolutely stupid and boring and i'd hate it.

Report

Nilla i think you are on to something with the beasts. Maybe a special like Sabers new refine where, once charged, they activate beast mode and enjoy a stat increase or something like that?

I am unfamiliar with non-Heroes games, but if they transform it would be neat to see two different sprites for normal and transformation. But sadly they didn’t do that with dragons.

In the Tellius Series, Laguz transform based on a transformation gauge based on turn count and actions taken on the map, but can also be forced to transform via Laguz Stones, which automatically transform the laguz, but doesnt keep them transformed, by equipped a Demi-Band, which keeps them tranformed, but lowers their stats, or by having the Laguz band, which does the same, but without the stat penalty, and is only equippable by a few units.

Not only that, but they couldn't promote, they basically had nerfed exp gains, but higher overall stat bonuses when they DID level up, combined with bonus stats while transformed.

Dragons in other games, like beasts in other games, didn't use this method of transforming, and took the easier ------stone approach, which streamlines gameplay, but is just less fun.

I see, thanks for the explanation. That does seem to be a different kind of element that could be done with a lot of thought by IS, and make it fun, especially as the rounds go on.

Report

There is a serious flaw with that however. The fact that non laguz beastkin dont have a transform gauge as well as royal laguz. That and how would they attack? Just sit there and take damage? That doesn't sound fun

Ilyana : Hungry Mage
Blue Tome / Infantry
PV : 37
Atk : 37
Vit : 30
Def : 18
Res : 27
Weapon : Rexbolt (Mt 16). Effective against Dragons. +10 damage when Special activates. Not inheritable.
Assist : Draw back
Special : Luna.
Passive A : Death Blow 3.
Passive B : Endless hunger. If a movement Assist skill is used on unit, grant Atk+8 to unit for 1 turn.
Passive C : Shade. When a foe have two or more units in his/her range of attack, he will prioritize units who don't have Shade. Not inheritable.

Ok, first of all, my english is shit, so if something is not clear, don't hesitate to tell me. I tried to give Ilyana a build based on the character in FE PoR/RD. Shade was her signature skill (with Volke), and I thought it was an interesting idea to mess up with IA. Endless hunger is an alternative version of a Link passive. Maybe she's a little OP, but hey, she deserved it.

I think two PRF skills is a bit much. Shade would work better as a B skill, and personally, I think it should be inheritable and locked to ranged infantry/armor classes, and I say that because ranged units cant use breath skills.

Report

I admit I got a little crazy with the inheritence x) But your idea of limited inheritance is really great !
For Shade, the way I see it, it's a skill who affect the enemy, like a lot of C passives. But initially, Shade was B skill, Eternal Hunger a A skill, and the C skill was more common (Threaten Res, something like that). Thanks for the feedback anyway !

Limstella: Perfect Morph
Red Infantry Mage
HP:38
Atk: 34
Spd: 36
Def: 17
Res: 30
Weapon: Fimbulvetr (14 Mt) - Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). After combat, if unit attacked, inflicts Atk/Spd/Def/Res-4 on target and foes within 2 spaces of target through their next actions.
Assist: Draw Back
Special: Quintessence Harvest (3) - After combat, grants +1 Atk/Spd/Def/Res for the rest of the match.
A: Swift Sparrow
B: Special Spiral
C: Odd Spd Wave

Maybe overkill, but it's a wish after all.

Dark Brynhildr- built in mirror strike 2 and gravity effect on the foe attacked.
Wanted to make him offensive like his cousin Siegbert.

Many of the characters you posted have much less speed tbh. I mean they could change it, but it wouldn't be super accurate.

Maybe I go a little to far with this one, but hey, why not ?

For those who didn't play the Tellius series (Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn), heron acts as dancers. As all Laguz (beast), they can transform. They can't fight (that's why he doesn't have weapon), but when a heron transforms, his powers, as a dancer, become stronger. In the case of our prince, in his animal form, he can refresh all adjacent allies. I tried to take the concept in this build.

Special : Serenes Gift (Cd : 5). Every time the unit is attacked, grants Special cooldown charge +1. Upon activation, grants another action to adjacent allies. Non inheritable.
Passive A : Fluidity. If the unit have no weapon equipped, grants 10% of chances to nullify damage of foe's attack.
Passive B : Blessing 3. At the start of every second turn, restore 10 HP to adjacent allies.

Blessing is an adaptation of original Reyson skill, like a reverse Renewal. The first effect of Serenes Gift could be inclued in Passive A.
The idea was to have a nice effect, something like a Sing+ (an idea that I saw on another thread), but which requires to take some risks.
