Buckeling down on a merge project - build ideas

Had a merge project with Chrom, but I'm kinda running out of copies, so I'm starting a second one.

But I honestly don't know what way to go with him. He's +atk -def.
I'm asking regardless of budget, he's gonna be my main green mage after all.

Ideally you'd want to wait until you have all the copies & feathers to merge up your heroes.

Soren's quite versatile so his build depends on what you want. Here's mine (+Res -HP)
I swap in Fury and Res Ply Seal for PVE.
I plan on making another one that is +Atk/Spd -HP with the Owl Refine once I get more copies of him and run a more offensive build.

You might want to consider switching to +Atk/-Hp since he can tank a couple melee hits thanks to his refine, but that's up to you. Your current IVs are fine.

Nah, I think that merging when I get an idea is better.
To force myself to continue it later. Otherwise I spent all those feathers at GHB units.
The res refine kinda feels like a waste, even if it works for ploys.

Also +atk IV. Works even better than +spd, which is suggested as his best boon.

Just a regular tactician...nothing suspicious to see there.
Feels bad, that I have to completely change his build whenever I have to use him for arena scoring tho. Even though he's a great support, it still feels better to just let him kick ass.

Mostly for scoring. If I want to use aether normally, I usually give him flashing blade. A regular 3 turn special fits him best in regular cases...mostly depends on the amount of support that you have on your team, but I personally use draconic aura the most, because it deals slightly more damage than iceberg on player phase (on enemy phase iceberg would be better due to distant defense).

Hmm.
I might go for this build then, I do happen to have a atk/spd bond.

Now there's the question of Luna vs Iceberg.
Luna might work better to cut through mages he baits

I think you won't need luna against mages. Maybe against high res green armors, but it's not needed against regular mages, because they have low hp and a 60+dmg (when you are next to at least one ally) + a follow-up attack deals with them even without a special trigger.
