Brave Ike IV Build: Neutral, +Atk/-Spd or +Atk/-Res

Just wondering best IV build. May go DC or Steady Breath. Hard to decide :/

+Atk -Res.
A lot of people say speed is his most disposable but it’s really up to how you play him.
He’s my summoner support, and for me I buff the hell out him with hone spd/atk/def and spur and ally support - meaning he usually hits a high speed and doubles his opponent.

Buuuuuut if you want to play him as a pure power one hit kill tank, go +atk-spd.

Sorry, late reply.
I run distant counter on him. You don’t have to, but if he’s in range of Reinhardt, Reinhardt will attack and be killed by Ike on the same turn.
Your choice though

He’s neutral, though as you can see I’ve been lucky lately and pulled a lot of ikes off the TT banner for very few orbs (pulling on 3.25%!) - result!

Report

Yes but only because it protects his resistance and although the extra attack is nice, he’s a bit like Hector, one hone attack buff or dance from P Azura is enough to send his attack through the roof. I agree with the poster who said neutral is probably his best stat spread. He benefits a little from everything. But if you do use the -res Ike, don’t worry about Reinhardt because Urvan will still protect you and DC will still kill him.

Steady Breath allows him to become a beast on enemy phase and being doubled is the allows him to charge up Ignis/Aether extremely easily- -Spd ALL THE WAY.
PS- DC most likely interrupts magical confrontation and if he's doubled (which is likely) he might take the full damage if he fails to kill the enemy unit

No. And it was not my intent (even though it does sound like it)... his points are straight on. +Atk/-Spd is arguably Brave Ike's best set of IV's.

Report

Against brave weapons and active desperation users it doesn’t interrupt the consecutive attacks and so Urvan activated the same and then distant counter kicks in to wipe out your foe.

Since those are common builds it is quite effective to run dc

I have a neutral Brave Ike and after putting him though the battle simulator I honestly think neutral is his best IV set. The +Atk-Spd is tempting but the spd bane makes him just a bit too slow in the current metagame.

^ this - completely agree. And with a +3 speed seal he hits 31 speed and it completely changes his speed tier the number of opponents that can double him, not forgetting hone buffs, ally/summoner support and spur buffs

I agree with this. -spd is NOT good for him. Why would you want get hit twice if you don't have to?
ANY melee that touches Ike and cannot kill him, he will proc Ignis or Aether in their face on the same turn. It doesn't matter if they hit him once or twice. I don't know why some people wants to have him get hit twice. The 80% is there for brave weapons and Reinface.
You want neutral speed so you can dominate Hector and Amelia, 2 common units. There is no reason to wan to eat Amelia's axe twice in the face, Ike will proc Ignis or Aether anyways.

Here you go man. I know you're asking for DC or Breath. I say go with Breath it's too damn good.
I recall you were planning to use QR so here's a Breath QR build. He is +def -hp.
As for IV, if you still have not decided, go neutral, and use seal to add whatever boon you want.

Very much agree with this Distant counter is nice as it cleans up Reinhardt in a single combat. Although it doesn't help you in any other ranged match ups as Brave Ike doesn't have enough Atk to one shot most units without using a special and it conflicts with Urvan against ranged units. Plus Brave Lyn will just laugh at it anyway. Just let ranged units hit you as they have to one shot Brave Ike clean to kill him. Then you can retaliate with an Ignis or and Aether afterwards.

Report

Yeah as Brave Ike's res is at what I would accept as the bare minimum to not get blown out by mages. Brave Ike kills with special attacks way more often than he does with single combat. So the extra 3 attack doesn't make that much of a difference. Though if that is what you are using that is still a very good IV set for Brave Ike.
