Brave Ike

I got 2 Brave Ikes from the last banner, one was Neutral and the other was Def+ Atk-. Should I give distant counter to either of them instead of keeping my Atk- Hector, and if so, which one would be better suited? Thank you for reading.

No. You never give Brqave Ike Distant Counter. It's completely contradictory to the whole point of his Axe because his attack interrupts the enemy's 'consecutive' attacks and he's forced to take full damage. His ability to survive mages will plummet like a rock and he doesn't really benefit from his attack stat as well for that 1 hit. The Steady Breath giving him a fully prepped Aether anytime he baits a mage is his main advantage outside of dueling melee units with massive defense. Trading Steady Breath for DC will only serve to make him unnecessarily vulnerable because his 1 retaliation attack is not going to be strong enough to 1 shot any mage with Fury (most of them) or even some without due to his attack only hitting 52 neutral.

Well, if you want him to tank physical better, use the defense boon. An Attack bane wouldn't be 'too' awful for him thanks to Threaten Def and Aether being ready most of the time when he makes his first attack. But he also starts at 35 and gains 4 on defense with his Steady Breath so he's very well set at that 39 defense when attacked first so if you want that higher bit of attack, use the Neutral Ike.

Inheriting DC on Brave Ike is one of the optimal builds. The ability to retaliate and kill Reinhardt within the same turn is important, as Reinhardt's second attack (when danced by a dancer) will kill Brave Ike. If you do decide to use DC, then it's better to use bonfire as special and quicken pulse as your seal. This setup will ensure that Brave Ike one-shot almost all mages.

I have 3 DC fodders ready for a ton of units, but I see people contradict all the time whether or not B! Ike is optimal to use it.

Honestly, this game is all about experimenting with quote on quote your favorite heroes. Go crazy, make Ike a mage killer, do whatever you want. I know Ike will drop Steady Breath, but having both Ikes at the ready is a great idea, and you can experiment to your heart's content with both.
