blessings/elements in fire emblem

okay so like pokemon and avatar (for lack of a better example) its usually fire=atk, water=res, wind=spd, earth=def and it seems to be a pretty universal thing and everyone i heard from was pretty miffed on wind being +res in FEH.

is there any reason IS decided fire=def, water=spd, wind=res, earth=atk? it seems to be such an oddball and would have been more easily understood if they just went with the universal concept.

Another thing is that Fjorm is very good for countering ranged units and seems like she was built for that so it would make sense if the water blessing was for res and gunnthra lacks speed but makes up for it with her B slot, but either way, without a boon her speed is lacklustre and she could use the boost from being a spd based wind hero.

Well, as you have power to think, folks from IS do. But an RPG that reproduces the obvious and redundant aspects make the game something predictable, cliché... you really want this?

I don't see how that would ve a bad thing
Ok, it is predictable, so what? Why change the concepts we already a had just to be "innovative" and "unexpected"

From what i understand, the blessing stat bonuses is not related to the element but the legendary hero itself. There would be more than one legendary hero in the future for each element that will give different stat bonuses.
