Best A-skill for Xander? + my weird luck

Yo! I dropped 180 orbs on the new Counter banner, and got a -spd Sigurd after the first 150. I was really sad since I already have a Sigurd, but maybe Xander or A!Tiki could use Close Defense?

I angrily returned to the banner after seeing Sigurd's IVs, then clicked summon. Only one green stone appeared. I clicked it, thinking, "why did I come for Gunter again..." BUT IT WAS HECTOR!!! FINALLY! AFTER MORE THAN 1 year!

I checked his IVs: +atk -res. Perfect, so I felt kinda bad for wanting to fodder him to my Sheena. So I returned to the banner, thinking I might just zero out my remaining 145 orbs trying to get him. Lo and behold, a 2nd Hector came around in 2 sessions, costing me only 21 orbs, -atk +res so my SHEENA FINALLY GOT DC!!!! So I spent 180 orbs in total and got 3 5* heroes. Not horrible for once.

Anyways, I promoted Xander since he'll sometimes be an Arena bonus unit, and I plan to merge all copies of him. Any good ideas for A-skills? I might give him CD, but it's such a rare skill and my main Sigurd already has +1 merge on him. Fury I do not want since I will put QR skill (not seal since Sheena needs it) on Xander. I don't have Steady Breath Fodder. I do have a Luke sitting around with Fire Boost or Panic Ploy, a Dorcas with Fierce Stance + QR. Might even have an Earth Boost. Thoughts?

I went for a Takumi on my free summon and I got a Saizo

yeah...at first I sniped green and colorless and nothing happened until I spent 150 orbs. Then I just sniped green to get the Hector.

Don't think Cavalry units can use Steady Breath unfortunately. Atk+3 is a decent budget option since it'll push him up to 51 Atk. If you don't mind him the loss in Atk, Fortress Def is an option as well. Close Defense is probably the best option if you don't want to use Fury tbh. If you have Joshua from a past TT, you could always fodder him off for Close Def instead.

I use Triangle Adept on my Xander, that way green mages have to think twice before attacking him. Here is his build. I've been using him with Camus, Frederick, and Elise. "Three stern men and little girl"

hmmm. Interesting idea, but I don't want him to be weak to ALL blues. Maybe vantage and an attack boosting skill when he needs to kill those mages?

I went for Takumi, spent 65 f2p orbs, and all i fucking got was a +Def -Spd Jakob that SHOULD have been a Takumi. Seriously, they need to remove outdated garbage 5*s from the pool.

Speaking of the devil, I got a 5* +hp -res Merric from my free summon. don't know if I should laugh or cry.

Cavalry can't use Steady Breath but I gave mine Steady Stance 3 from a Shiro on the last legendary banner and it works wonders. I think Close Defense is probably about equal as the SS which helps with against archers and dagger on the ranged front while CD helps against dragons.
