Best recipients of DC/CC

I have one extra Hector and the free 4* Takumi hanging around in my barracks and gathering dust, so I was wondering: which Heroes do you think would gain most from these skills?
I've been playing for a while, so I have most F2P heroes and 3*-4* heroes.

For CC you can thinkbof some healers (vantage + savage blow 6), magic users with nice bulk (boey, halloween henry...) or some bulky archers maybe.

For DC, you should use bulky units. Dragons (myrhh, A tiki with her new breath), armored units, sigurd, powerful units you want to use in both phase (Ayra for example)...
I'll send two of my units to give you an example

Spot on with the recommendations. To the poster, I would highly recommend Myrrh as her Great Flame means almost no mages have the defense to ignore it's effect and double her while she can hit back at their weakest defensive stat with QR letting her hit twice.

I have an Elise with similar stats, and the savage blows... My ? is how often does vantage work for you with this; My problem is she can get OHKO too much. (I also am sitting on CC fodder)...

The rule of thumb is high def ranged units, of which I don't use many...

I realise he's very different from the normal builds you see for him. But hands down he's my most adaptable tank character.

If you don't have Hardin, the other blue armoured units would love to get dat DC- Effie especially, being easy to obtain and a very strong character for the 3-4 star pool.

For me, best DC recipient is Zephiel GHB. With his refiniment he gets Distant Defense. Just use DC on him and he will tank mages and physical units, archers and daggers. Mine also have Vengative Fighter so he is a monster.

Other option is regular Ephraim. he works really god with Distant Counter and Quick Riposte. Also can buffs other unis. So usefull.

If you're planning on some day trying to push for upper tiers of Arena, you could put DC onto Sheena or Gwendolyn and start merging her up since they are currently the only two F2P units in the 746+ bucket.

If that's not of much importance to you, Eirika is a great option (her and Sheena have received my 2 spare Hectors to date). Tactics skills combined with Eirika's Copy Buffs PRF refine have unlocked her as one of the best bait units in the game, allowing her to get a max effective stat line with near 60 attack, 50+ spd, and 40+ bulk in both defense and res once highly merged I would highly, highly endorse not spending DC fodder on any 5* exclusive unit you have no plans to high merge. You'll regret it down the line as it's too rare a commodity.

As for CC, it's kind of a quirky ability that best servers armor ranged units, and strangely enough some healers (Azama, Nanna) as well as dagger units like Saizo. Some Owl Tome mages like S. Corrin with the right IVs can still run a decent CC set. The only non-armor infantry mage that makes that much use of it is Boey, who is in a rough spot these days and badly in need of a PRF refine. Unfortunately manaketes really hurt the CC mage niche.

I'd say Fir, but I'll also admit I'm biased here and would love to give Fir DC myself. Unfortunately I haven't summoned Hector even once.

But Fir at least has good res so she should handle non-blue mages pretty well with DC. And refined Nameless Blade allows her to have both wo dao and slaying edge in one 16 mt weapon allowing for some powerful specials to mess around with.

Another 3*-4* red option could be Caeda considering she's very similar statwise to Fir, 1 more spd and 3 more res but 5 less hp.

Maybe it's just personal preference, but I think the best candidates Boey or Lukas. Yeah, they aren't as good as other units but they can really work wonders if you build them as tanks. Boey is the mage with the best defense and Lukas is the best physical tank in Heroes in general.
But obvious and better choices would be Effie, Zephiel, Peri, Gwendolyn, Roy, Merric (with good IVs), any healer who can take a hit, and a lot more.

Someone asked about DC a few days ago. https://fireemblem.gamepress.gg/q-a/good-users-distant-counter

CC builds tend to fall in two categories: vantage-dependent, and hard-tankers. There may be exceptions, but I'm not familiar with them.

Vantage-based strategies often involve savage blows and pain+, for example:
- high atk, wrathful pain+ double sb healers with vantage - preferably one with at least a little physical bulk, but under some circumstances even Genny can pull this off. Serra, Elise, Sakura, and Lucius would be my candidates.
- similarly, Jaffar with refined dagger. He can't target res, but he has a 7-point debuff on their def.
- Felicia is an interesting try with this strategy, quite situational. Likely relies on her refined plate's cooldown acceleration to charge a growing wind on any mage, splash everybody with adaptive damage (and maybe stack savage blows just for good measure), and again, CC vantage them all to death, always with adaptive damage.

Hard tankers include:
- owl tome mages with mixed bulk, which could potentially be a lot of them, actually, as long as their def isn't as low as Delthea's. Armoured mages are the most obvious pick, starting with W.Tharja, but H.Henry and LA Lyn can do it too with the right IVs and support. (I wouldn't normally pick LA Lyn to do it though.) Sophia, Henry, Odin, M.Robin, maybe Julius with close def (due to Loptous' penalty against any weapon that isn't anti-dragon), and funnily enough, Reinhardt and +def Nino all have potential with this kind of strategy.
- H.Jakob, especially with guard bow, vengeful fighter, close def, and ignis - will obliterate close to if not anything that attacks him. But the ideal IVs for this set are not in harmony with ideal IVs for his brave+bold build, so either you would have to give up some def/res on this set or a lot of potential extra damage on the player phase set or give up the player phase set entirely.
- some daggers (Saizo is the first example, but Matthew and even rogue dagger Jakob can also do this reasonably well)
- similarly, Virion, especially with Clarisse's bow
