Best Fae Combo

So, I thought I had it all figured out, but now I'm just slightly doubtful.
I currently have a +spd/-HP. I planned to switch to a +Def/-HP with the merging process. The thing is, with her fully merged and her Light Breath refined for Def with the +spd IV, she has the same stats as the +def IV refined for Spd. The final results are as follows
Refined Breath + Fury
HP 52
Atk 54
Spd 38
Def 36
Res 37

If I refine the +spd one for spd breath, she hits 41, but her defense suffers down to 32. If I refine the +def one for def breath, her Defense hits a solid 40, while her speed gets knocked down to 35. Which is better? Losing a decent chunk of Defense to make it so only 46+ spd can double her, or making her more vulnerable to being doubled by 40+ spd units(Which few blues and greens fit into. She's not battling reds) while shooting her def sky high, and making her Bonfire for 20 extra damage before buffs?
Or is the mixed set of 38 speed better, where she can only be doubled by 43+ speed, and a fairly even 36 def, 37 res, making either Iceberg or Bonfire throw an extra 18 damage?

Thoughts?

EDIT: She uses QR, so her speed is only for preventing doubles and the rare occasion where she initiates that she'll want to double. And none of the above stats include the Light Breath Buff effect

Crazy answer is have you considered running windsweep to get light breath effects and not have Fae take damage(obviously running double speed or double defense with phantom speed)? You would lose qr, but with fury you get knocked out of range quickly as well. You would also be able to run atk/spd smoke safely for a nice combo with the buffs.

Looking at what I usually see in arena the double defense would probably be more beneficial. I run my Fae at 32 spd and never have an issue. Especially if you are keeping her away from reds, not a lot of greens or blues get that high on spd, and most don't have great atk if they do.

I say go with the mixed set. You'll still have high amounts of speed and defense

That's what I was thinking aftr I ran the numbers, but I wanted some other opinions. I think that's what I'll do. Good thing is I have enough Faes to hold onto the +def/-HP one and still max a merge on my +Spd one if I decide to change it up later.
