Best build for a +atk -spd Ryoma?

So after months of playing this game I finally pulled a Ryoma, and of course he's -spd. I really want to use him anyway, because as an ftp player I'm not going to say no to any 5* hero with distant counter. What's the best way to build him? Should I compensate with Darting Blow, or try to build up his def and use him to bait with quick riposte? Or is vantage a better choice? Help!

You want Ryoma to be strong during the enemy phase so I wouldn't go with Darting Blow (which is only active during the player phase). If you have it available Fury would help patch up his speed while boosting attack, defense, and resistance. It's a toss up between Vantage and QR - I'd go with Vantage myself but a lot of players prefer QR.

I know that you're F2P but, just to toss out rare skills,
Heavy Blade or Steady Breath would be excellent on him.

LOL, I've been burning through my Hinatas with how many people I've put Fury on, but I still have a couple left so it might be worth it.

I'm normally a QR person, but I don't know that it makes sense with Fury, and I've been wrecked by enough DC/Vantage units in the arena that I kind of want to try it. Plus Vantage 3 is a lot cheaper.

If I ever pull any terrible Ikes I'll keep that in mind. ;)

Heh. My Ike is a lot like your Ryoma... +SPD -ATK.

You should still run his typical set of Fury!Vantage or go with the more expensive option of Heavy Blade/Steady Breath!Quick-Reposte.

Ryoma doesn't really take much to optimise. Maybe pair him with Delthea with Hone Speed or Brave Lucina if you have them to repair his speed.

I literally just pulled a Brave Lucina yesterday (my first brave hero!!) and was thinking of leveling them up together. Thanks for pointing that out!

With B!Lucina, you can actually treat your -Spd Ryoma as a +Spd since you can still give him Hone speed for even more.

Using hone speed alongside B!Lucina sounds insane and I love it. Gonna have to figure out who to put hone speed on, because I'm pretty sure the only people I have running it are Ephraim, who seems a bit redundant alongside Brave Lucina, and Subaki, who really isn't good enough to justify taking a second blue slot. I'm now having dreams of using my free summon on B!Lyn and rounding out the team with my Summer Tiki. Would she be a good candidate?

If you're running Lyn as well, S!Tiki will definitely be the best member to put Hone Speed on. You can also give Hone Attack to Ryoma and then use Lyn's Smoke Attack to help reduce damage for the others.

Either put summoner support on Lyn or Ryoma and have Lucina pair up with whoever does gets it, while S!Tiki can support the person who didn't get it. Pretty strong synergy, but you'll have to find a way to work around 3 of them so you have room for the Arena bonus unit.

I already have arena teams built around Anna, Alfonse, and Sharena, so I'm theoretically set, although my Alfonse team dies a bit too often and my Sharena team suffers from low BST. I'm actually thinking that slotting Alfonse in for Ryoma in this lineup would work better than what I've got for him lol.
