Berkut build

I wanted to ask you guys your opinion on this Berkut that i'm going to build up. I used the FEH Unit Builder to create it since i still miss some stuff like a QR and Bonfire fodder. As for the rest he already has the Berkut's Lance+ (Atk Ref), Reposition and Fortify Cav. Brazen Def/Res i just need to upgrade a Kana (M) and the DD seal is ready and running. So, opinions?

Hmm... I'm a little shaky about this but it seems it works well. Dragons is going to be a butt and one-shot Green Mage Units are going to slap him. I love that QR, DD and Brazen Def/Ref is on him seen he would very tough to kill once you already attacked him and him surviving it. Bonfire would be just perfect from his low speed and high defense. Nice build on him~

Well if he's in the Brazen range he's basically gonna get +7 def and +14 Res (Brazen + Weappon effect) which boost him up to 39 Def and Res which are gonna make him quite hard to take down without triangle advantage (but for Greens my boy B!Roy is there ready to kick their asses with his 60 Atk thanks to the Hone Cav from either Clive or Cecilia in my Horse Emblem). Then, if we consider the fact that he's in a Horse Emblem and that B!Roy has Fortify Cav, he's pretty much immortal

I can see you're trying out something different than most (the refine on Berkut's lance gives it away already lol), but do you see him tangling more with red/blue melee units rather than archers/mages? Which would justify the A skill. as for QR, I think it runs counter to Brazen Def/Res, but that may just be me. I'd suggest Vantage, but there's no accounting for taste :D

Yeah, i know i'm not like everyone that uses the Res or Def Refine on Berkut's Lance. Aside from that, he's supposed to be a tank similar to Sheena i'd say, in terms of Def and Res. Cause in the BRazen Range during enemy phase he reaches 39 Def and Res which is really good. Ofc he can't counter ranged units, but if i wanted to do that i'd have to sacrifice the skill that makes him a wall. For QR i can see where the doubt is coming from. I mean, he needs to have between 34-39 HP to make use of both (if using QR3. Using QR2 he must have 39 HP) but if he manages to land there, mostly all of the units who face him won't deal all that damage to him and he'd still be able to strike back twice in meelee giving dragon emblems a bad time (except if it's M!Grima but we all know that he's freaking broken)

If you ask me, i would go for Brave lance build, espechally now, when you can have brazen atk/def at 4*

Report

Well, consider that i'm not going for a Brave Lance+ build. I already have another unit for that and he comes with Brave Lance+ already in his kit (yep, talking about Finn). This Berkut is designed to be a wall cause, let's face it: during enemy phase, if he's in the Brazen range, he's basically gonna have 40 to both Def and Res in meelee combat. And don't get me started with ranged units cause then he'll reach 50 to both making him a freaking armor unit on steroids with a horse

Report

According to my calc he wont reach that much res even with fortify cav buff, that would be 39 at best. 45 with cav buffs is great so maybe we are wrong about this build. Dont get me wrong it realy feels a bit unreliable so you need to lower his hp without engaging any fight, to get on that hp threshold for brazen and qr to work at once.

Report

Ok, let me run the calcs: he has 32 and 25. +7 Res during combat from his weapon he reaches 32 Res. +6 coming from the fortify cav bonus becomes 38/38. Brazen Def/Res 3 gives +7 during combat reaching 45/45. And this is if he's attacked in any way possible. Now, if we consider using either Close Def or Distant Def he gains +6 points to his Def and Res, depending on who's attacking you and which seal you have, reaching 51/51. It's pretty solid if you ask me

Ops, sorry. Forgot his lance effect. You right here i was wrong. CC might serve you better, but that just my prefference. Do consider swap QR for something like guard or dullranged since QR is a bit to unreliable here while neutralizing cav, flier buffs from blade tomes or slowing down special colldown charge might be better in improving his taking capability. So, overall i like the idea, but with qr it feels a bit off, or consider run argent sacriffice or recipropical aid to get in required hp threshold, as i mentioned before, to force him into qr and brazen skill range.
