Beast Unit, Beast Unit, Blah Blah Blah
Okay, listen. I always hear about how people want beast units in the game, but I want to start by saying, WHAT THE FUCK ARE BEAST UNITS! I'm a really late FE player and I don't know what they are yet. I tried to research but it's not too useful. All I understood was that they counter beast weapons. If that's the case, I don't see beast weapons in Feh. I know I should play Awakening but my 3DS in gone and I don't know where it is. Can someone help because I want to be involved in this conversation. Thanks in advance!

I mean, it's not more me being upset, it's more 'been there, heard that'. You see these anti furry people, or really anti anything people, shoving their opinions down peoples throat when really no one wants to hear it and just respect people for who they are. Like, quietly disrespect if you don't like it. Not everyone wants to hear the same thing from a different person, we get it.
Sorry for that small ramble. Just had to speak a bit of truth.
But I and I'm sure many other people appreciate you being responsible and deleting your comment. That's pretty big of you, especially on this dark place we can the internet.

I'm not denying it may be a problem. Yes, the std thing is serious. But hosting a convention where you can interact with people of the same interests is nothing to need to hate on. Comicon, Pax, Vidcon, E3, why should a furry con be any different?
You can hate all you want and I won't try to change that. But going as far as saying that all of them should die a violent death is way to fucking far dude.
That said, that's all I'm saying on this. I'm burnt out from talking about this. This was supposed to be a question about what the importance was on beast units. Yet we turned it into... This. :/

Well, kinda think of them as dragonstone units. But instead of dragons they are different beasts.
They're a big part of the story in Tellius (FE 9&10)
There the 'Laguz' are differend tribes of beasts. Generally imagine them as a larger version of real life beasts.
There are Lions, Tigers, Cats, Wolfs, Hawks, Ravens and Herons.
There are also Dragons in tellius.
In Awakening there are Taguel. Basicly giant Bunnies.
In fates there are two more based on myths.
Wolfkin are basicly werewolfs.
Kitsune are japanese demon foxes.
Does that explain it?

In tellius games, beasts can't just transform at will, and need their gauge increased over the course of the level, which can be done with either passing turns or taking hits.
While untransformed they are useless, but when they transform they have the potential to completely solo maps, nearly doubling all their stats except hp, along with having extended movement range.

Ehh, they kinda have to.
I don't see how the laguz meter can work in heroes.
I mean, you can do something like:
Needs to wait in the same tile to transform, can fight 5 times before returning.
But that'd be awkward to use.
Maybe having all stats 3 lower and being unable to attack, but able to counter as human form

Beast units are just units that can transform like manaketes, but transform into various beasts rather than dragons. you said you have awakening, the beast units from that game are panne and yarne, who can transform into giant rabbits
i don't know much about any non-3DS FE games, but they appear in a lot of FE games
I think what ive seen is the idea is that they would counter themselves, like in the games the ability beastbane allowed them to counter enemy beasts (and horses? i think)

Beast units are units that aren't human or Dragon. In Ike's game they were called Laguz, while Awakening had them as Tanguel and Fates had it as they werewolf and the giant fox(I'm drawing a blank on they're names). They are units that work outside the weapon triangle and have beast like attributes like cat ears or wings. They are weak to anti-calvary(because they are a beast),or if they are the ones with wings they are weak to bows.

As said for the last 3 comments, beast units are units who turn into wolves or lions or birds or kitsunes and more. They use stones to transform and often get big stat boosts from it.
They're VERY important in the Telius games. Acting as the "other" people and are often shuned from others because they're different.
In Awakening and Fates, they're less important. But the two beast units types get their own chapter in Conquest and Birthright. One is easy, one is hell. I'll let you guess which is which.
There are some fan favorites like Tibarn, Selkie, Keaton, Panne, Lethe, Ranulf, and many more. All of them are famous from their respective games for their own good reason. Now wether this is because people just like them or the furry community jumping on board, it's good to know how big an impact beast units are in certain games of the series.
