Barrier Sword Heavy Blade Distant Zelgius

Is it a good idea? It raises his mage survivability by a good precent. My Zelgius 36 spd avoids doubles pretty easily and 21 res is actually a good start for a bit of mage tanking. And with 52 attack, it'll only be lowered to 50, which in itself is really solid. That with DC and Heavy Blade with buffs from regular Marth or Armor Buffs is going to be godly.
Is it a good idea for when I get Silvia? I'm summoning for her just for the Barrier Sword.

Tbh mage tanking is kinda redundant if you can't retaliate. If you can't give him DC, then giving him the Barrier Sword is worthless.

Now you have to feed him DC and he would still be mediocre at magic soak. If you really want him to counter mages, give him warding breath and DD.

Barrier sword is IMO not as good as Safeguard, It's a good sword but If you have a good sword but noone good to use it then it's just gonna be a bad sword.

Zelgius might be able to use it but without DC he will be a good Mage tank but that's just, he can tank but he can't retaliate.
Fir is a really goo candidate for it since she has naturally high res So she can tank even without DD so she can retaliate but since she has less than desireable atk she won't kill any mages in one round without any support or buffs(especially since most mages right now are realyl fast so she won't double against them)

In the end yeah Go for her and give Zelgius a Barrier sword.

Best defense is a good offense. Steady Breath/Wrath/QP Zelgius one shots most blue mages on the counter anyways.

Probably better than people are giving it credit for, but something about this seems poor to me, just going by intuition. I think I feel this way because that I think you have better plays with Zelgius. Consider this on Draug?

I haven't played with Draug. I honestly don't know if I ever will. But I might just with a Barrier S.
But with my surplus of Swords (I have like 9 or 10) I'm unsure
