Is that the whole build, though? It might work, in way, considering Dragons are a thing, and that he has massive HP and good enough Def as it is. And not to memtion, he somewhat needs it considering he's a sitting duck with his mobility without the right support.

If you are looking for an armour unit that can abuse Barrier Blade, it's probably Draug. If fully invested into his Res (With Res refine and double CD), he can probably reach over 50 Res. I'd prefer the set given to Draug as he can be merged.

Edit: Special Fighter is probably needed for this build though.

Special Fighter isn't really needed. Especially with his only 32 speed, I'd recommend -Spd +Res IVs and Vengeful Fighter (along with something like Iceberg, since you're investing in Res, or Luna, because of his low Atk). If you have Vengeful Fighter, you leave an S slot open for Close Def--don't do Bold Fighter and Barrier Blade, it's inefficient.
