Bad luck with winter IVs

So I just spent the 100 orbs I had saved and got W!Tharja and W!Robin.

Problem is, they have their worst possible banes, I think.

Tharja is -Atk and Robin is -Spd... Both are +Def.

How can I build them to try and work around their shortcomings?

Armor Emblem or a mixed team?

Either way, I'd just use Robin for fodder, now or later. You could refine his weapon for speed. That and a Hone buff gives him 44 speed, 47 if you run Water Blessing and Fjorm.

Armor Emblem, definitely. It looks like the only way to make up for their banes.

Do they want to keep their default weapons?

It's really tempting to fodder them away. But first, I'll try to use them.

Tharja likes the Owl Tome on Armor Emblem. Robin can use a Slaying Lance+. Obviously run Ward Armor. Desperation on Robin could work, depending on how much you put into him.

I got +HP -Defense Tharja and +Resistance -Attack Chrom. So, yeah, I feel your pain.
