A Bad LA! Hector

I asked this question a while ago, but I didn't get many responses and wanted a wider range of opinions. I recently pulled a -atk +spd LA! Hector. I'd really like to build him, as he's a good unit, but those ivs will really hold him back. Because of this, I'd like to fodder him for distant counter.

Is it worth it to keep him or fodder him off? And if I fodder him, should I give distant counter to my unmerged Ayra or my +5 Eirika on my arena team? Thanks!

Distant counter is for tanks. Tanks only. Ayra, Mia, Eirika, etc should never inherit that skill unless you have too many hectors to care.
And even then, it uses the A slot. The one such units rely on to be good in player phase. Without it, most lose a lot of their potential.
Yes, you can fodder him. To Sheena for example. A +res -spd one. Easy to acquire, and very strong. She wont hit as hard as Hector, but will survive far longer, even against mages.
Or....just keep him. Its still a decent unit.

And if you can also fodder vengeful fighter to sheena at the same time...even lvl 2....
Boom.
Perfect bait unit. Get a healer to keep her at 70%+ and witness the carnage.
Pure win.

Actually; Eirika is a good candidate for DC if she’s on a team where lots of buffs are circulating. On a Tactics team, she can get +12 to every stat, which allows her to stack her Spd, Def, and Res to a point where she can tank reliably and be difficult to kill

Oh...you "just" need a +10 5* eirika in a specific team to have an argument. Is it irony ? Or maybe you should play the game instead of crunching numbers on a theory crafting app like an idiot.

Lets do some Sheena theory crafting then.
Base : 36 in def and res.
+10*: 40 each.
Ward armor: 44 each.
Fortity armor: 50 each.
Buddy support: 52 each.
Summoner support: 54 each.
Distant def seal: 60 each.
A hit from BVeronica staff : +4 res/def for friends, -4att/speed for enemies.
The equivalent of +8 res/ref if things are optimal.
And that thing will DC with a double strike (thx to vengeful fighter) and with bonfire. And that thing is a common green unit, easy to +10 with time, that is optimized vs mages like Reinhardt.
Not only he will hit for 0, but he will be killed. Same for most blue tomes. And many green ones. Any archer is doomed. And it is a setup that is not that hard to build, with 3 armors, including the Wall of Sheena, and a Veronica. And Veronica is just the cherry on the cake.

I'd give it to Eirika. She has amazing mixed bulk that gets better with merges and can anti-mage better than Hector can.
