Bad IV brave Ike... Will he still be decent

My luck just blows. I finally get Brave Ike on a free summon but he has +res -spd... Will he still be effective?

I'm sure he's fine. I have a -Atk B!Ike that I use and he does fairly okay for what I use him for..... which is, admittedly, not much, but it's a 4-man squad for a reason, so ally-buffs exist. :)

I'm assuming this is their only B!Ike, so if that's the case then scoring really shouldn't matter in this case since merging more accessible units is usually the way to go.

Its not the end of the world, as +res can be helpful for making him actually be able to take magic hits. I would most likely fodder him for steady breath to a dragon/fjorm but you could still make him work if you are willing to invest qr3 into those ivs.

I use brave ike a lot and qr2 is just fine!
Don't worry about the IVs too much it'll just take away your joy when finally pulling the unit you wanted!

Actually, I think that B!Ike can utilize any boon that isn't HP or Spd really well.

With the +Res, he can better tank attacks from fast, non-Red mages due to Urvan's built-in effect of reducing all consecutive attacks by 80% and fully charge up Aether for the next fight. He will also have better match-ups against Dragons like Nowi and Fae.

Well, the slower Ike is, the more often he gets doubled, which will allow him to trigger his Aether in the same round of combat against physical units. I think that's a very valid reason to take -Spd.

Okay, after reading through his analysis on this site, I guess that +Spd is a really important boon for him. I'll admit that I was wrong there.

However, in my opinion, -Spd is also a perfectly acceptable bane for him (similar to how Dragons could get away with the +Spd or -Spd). As I mentioned earlier, it will charge his Specials against more mages that he can't retaliate against--especially since +Res is great for tanking magic hits. With his fantastic bulk + Steady Breath + Aether, he can also tank a lot of non-Red melee units even if he gets doubled. And even +Spd won't save him from Red speed demons like Ayra and Mia, who will most likely outspeed him even if Ike is getting support from his team.

Point is, Ike can still run very well with -Spd and isn't immediately trash because of it.

Ye i agree with you on basically everything. Except when you said "actually, I think that b!Ike can utilize any boon that ISN'T hp or SPD really well."

Literaly same ivs. It will affect his play style but not his effectiveness......

The main reason why +spd is highly recomended is bec he doesnt NEED to get double to get aether off thanks to warding breath and the 4 turn aether thanks to his weapon. But keep in mind that unless hes being heavily spd boosted by allies, hes going to get doubled by the majority of the cast anyways........

So ye its not THAT much of a loss.

Those IVs aren't the end of the world like others have already mentioned, but you might still be better off foddering his Steady Breath to another unit that can really benefit from it, like the dragons for example. It would seem more efficient than putting a lot of resource and effort to make him work?

He's precious cuz I got a legendary Ike so should I keep him till I get another brave Ike with good IV and I can merge the old one. Thanks for all the help

I actually don't think -spd is a problem?
I might be wrong but I always thought -spd is a good bane

Mine is +atk -spd and I just had to slap qr2 on him and he's done
