Baby Aether viability

Hey guys. Got a slow day in the office today, so I'm kind of slacking on the job and trying to come up with something to freshen up the experience in FEH for me.

I want to make a secondary build for my Soleil, who's currently using a basic wo dao desperation build. What I wanted to try is giving her DC, slaying edge, wrath and NOONTIME, because Aether takes too long and I don't really feel like giving her the Heavy blade seal. Depending on the target, she would heal somewhere between 10-20 (reliably) on every encounter, which should keep wrath in its threshold while keeping Soleil alive and more sustainable. Since she has a really high attack stat, I was thinking that she could reliably use self-sustain specials like this.

What do you think about this and healing specials in general?

Never really tried Woa Do, Wrath Combo but paired with Noontime will probably be, meh? Your unit will do 20 additional Damage as that's good, I would really like to try the same thing. I would test if this set would be good against tanky units? Its a good setup.

Yeah, the tanky units were my biggest issue when considering this. When she's put against someone like Zelgius who easily reaches 45 def when merged and/or buffed, she would deal only something around 15 dmg + 10 wrath damage, which would still turn into a decent heal, but Zelgius would be standing there still alive, which probably wouldn't happen if I used the cookie cutter slaying edge + wrath + moonbow build.

I mean, I really want to find a use for Sol or Noontime, but it seems so difficult to justify, sadly.

I tried Noontime on Nephenee (who comes with slaying weapon and wrath) but it didn't really work very well.
Soliel does have more atk but I'm not sure it would make enough difference. 7 more damage is only 2 more healing which isn't that much.

Steady Breath + Aether is the only way I've seen healing specials actually sustain decently well.

Damn. Yeah, it's kind of sad that even though Sol and Noontime got buffed a year ago, they still seem so inferior when compared to anything else.

It's a bummer that we are forced to use Steady breath (heavy blade not so much) or those armor B skills if we want to do a self sustain build that's also powerful.

Aether is king of sustain, and it’s also the highest scoring non-prf special along with galeforce for arena play. Even if you don’t run steady breath or heavy blade, if she’s part of your arena core, Aether is a huge jump in scoring compared to noontime.

Could be also worth a try, but the difference is not too relevant. I tried Noontime and Sol on Nephenee in the meantime, since she also has a slaying weapon and wrath, so the effects should at least give some idea of how it does and it was really underwhelming. The matchups that she normally wins and survives with a decent amount of hp left have now been left in a stalemate and she would die afterwards. The same outcome would probably happen to Soleil as well.

It's a real bummer, that the healing specials (with the exception of Aether) are just not worth it and I honestly don't see a hero that would be good with it, with the only exception being L.Ephraim, but he has a unique B skill to make it viable.

Yea unfortunately Aether is more effective with the Luna effect built in but I was wondering how a healing special would work with Wrath's damage proc'ing it. But like you said its not as effective on heavy defense units like Zelgius. I really would like to see IS buff Noontime and Sol to a level (almost, not exactly) like Lgn Ephriam's Solar Brace stacking effects with it. Like most people, I only really use Sol for survival mode matches like chain challenges or tempest trials. I also would like seeing people want to use it more in Arena.

For example, in the last game I was playing religiously before switching to FEH, Max Payne 3 multiplayer, there is a special ability that refills your health at certain amounts depending on the level you proc it. The amounts of health healed was substantial and this was widely used in alot of players' loadouts. I want to see Sol and Noontime get popular like that, as much as Moonbow or Glimmer
