Is "Ayra's Bizarre Slaughter" still worth the investment?

This site has a skill set for Ayra labeled as "optimal" that's called "Ayra's Bizarre Slaughter". It includes Slaying Edge+, Reposition, Regnal Astra, DC, Wrath, and Spd Smoke. Even if you use Ayra's Blade over Slaying Edge and Threaten Atk over Spd Smoke, though, the set takes both a Hector and a Nephenee, 5* units with high demand skills. Luckily, I have both of these units, thanks to the counter skills banner, and was thinking I might want to start using my Ayra again. However, the game has changed a bunch since Ayra's release, and I've got an Adult Tiki with Steady Breath, so I was wondering if you all think this set is still worth the investment and if it'll do anything noticeably better than A Tiki that'd warrant me using Ayra (neutral IVs) over her?

Hmmm, It IS a very heavy investment because like you said, Hector and Nephenee with high demand skills, but my brother built that Ayra he just doesnt have the wrath to go with it, so my final answer would probably be if you love Ayra, then give those skills to her(cuz thats what im gonna do with my units)

Personally, I don’t believe that set is worth the investment. It’s OK if you want to use her as an enemy phase unit, but Ayra can pull off a Player Phase set with ease and still be an incredible unit. It’s up to personal preference I think.

Personally I’ve never felt it was worth the investment even before. I just don’t think she is the best DC user, her resistance is quite poor too. That is exacerbated more so in the current meta where armour and dragons are 90% of my opponents right now and she fairs better as a player phase unit against these enemies rather than a enemy counter.

I always found it strange that it was considered optimal when her base kit is pretty OP to begin with. I mean, she has her own unique special- how many units can say they have one of those?

That is more of an enemy phase build and there are so many better enemy phase reds that will outperform Ayra. These include Sophia, W.Tharja, Ike (both of them), Eldigan, and Tiki (both).

honestly, while ayra is an incredibly powerful unit, 31 def is not really enough to run enemy phase builds and 21 res without vantage is a horrifying idea.

having an enemy phase Ayra is a massive investment and slaying edge++spd is basically the same as her weapon if you run regnal astra.

To call a build optimal, you would have to consider budget and usability.

Take a unit like Florina with an absolutely atrocious stat line. Her optimal build includes replacing her weapon and giving her a bunch of expensive skills because she doesn't get any skills she benefits from by default so she requires a full kit rework to make her stat line usable.

Then compare a unit like Ayra, who is incredibly usable right out of the box, even with a speed bane. She already comes with Swift Sparrow and Desperation along with a prf special and weapon. the only thing you really need is a C slot and support skill. To make a build and replace almost her entire kit and call it optimal, is a massive stretch.

if you want a nuke, go for ayra, if you want a nuke AND a tank, go with Tiki

This is very dependent on playstyle. A!Tiki is a pure defensive monster, while Ayra still holds a bit of a player phase presence with this set. The investment is high, but if that hector and neph are going to sit on the bench with no other candidates, they may as well be put to work.

There’s also AA to take into consideration. Tiki, who I’m guessing is Ayras biggest competition, can only be used once, so having more threats on your side is never a bad thing.

If you need some more units reds in AA, then go for it, but if you just don’t care for AA, I’d hold off. Ayras base kit is already dangerous on player phase and while the slaying edge wrath set is overall better, it’s something that will only matter if your playstyle requires a more versatile Ayra as opposed to a player phase set.
