Ayra options

So I have an Ayra+3 (got super lucky when she was first released) and have basically just been running Swift Sparrow and Desperation on her, ya know the normal stuff, but she's recently been kind of put on my backup list cause of so many other red units I've been using like Zelgius.

Well she came on to the field now with Rival Domains and Brigades being so large and I was reminded of how amazing she is and a thought came to mind.

My Ayra is +Def -Res (the others I got were all worse, a fully average one, and two more with -spd and -atk....) which puts her defense at a respectable 34 (35 for me cause of the merges). Now I know Swift Sparrow is basically the best on her since she's already so heavily focused on player phase and it gives the best bonuses for her, but what if I ran Fury instead?

It would activate her Desperation earlier which more often then not results in insta-kills with her cause of her weapon and unique special and would boost her defense to 38, matching and surpassing a lot of armored units. Her Res would still be only 21 but that was always her "dump stat" anyways.

Do you guys think it worth it to forgo a bit of extra player phase strength for some more bulk and good enemy phase strength as well, but saddled with the passive Fury damage? Or is Swift Sparrow still just so much better?

I ask cause I only have one more Hinata atm so I don't want to give up that Fury 3 if I shouldn't lol

Not even a little bit.

What kind of an answer is that? You need to expound a little....

But no, Fury isn't worth it. With Swift Sparrow Ayra can still be useful for Chain Challenges, sweeping through enemies with Desperation to get two strikes. the 2nd being Regnal Astra. With Fury, your HP will be 1 before long and she can't take any hits rather than having, say 50% HP for an emergency moment to take a hit.

I know, which is good, I just meant clarify by saying, 'No, I wouldn't use Fury 3'. Your statement wasn't neccesarily clear, although I guessed your meaning ;)

Fury is an option. You could actually even run Bonfire if you feel like. Fits the cooldown from Ayracs Blade a bit better.

My Ayra is +3 too, +def-hp. Well fury imo is not bad and if u want u can try a slaying edge+ spd ref with Quickened Pulse for insta Rengal Astra. If u somehow fail to kill your target and able to double it your target gets hit with double Regnal which is pretty broken. Way offtopic but if u want more bulk then slap that fury on and pray to Naga for more fury fodder on future banners xd

I'd say stick with Swift Sparrow. Ayra does have a decent defense stat, but she'll usually take enough damage to get into Desperation range during her first bout of combat. Fury sounds nice at first, but in the long term, especially in Rival Domains, that 6 chip damage will stack up quickly. Sure on player phase she'll be fine, but one positioning slip up, and shes as good as dead.
