This time I'm asking something different. I read what you have to say on Palla, but I have a hard time understanding how she really "works". Her stats seem underwhelming to me, but you (a consistent T20 player) tells me that you not only perform well with her, but then that you're also somewhat of a T21 candidate (replacing Nephenee).

None of their stats put me at awe, which either means raw stats aren't all people make them out to be, or you just use these skillsets really well.

Goes to disprove people that think they need 50 Spd in T20?

The reason I rank palla as the top red flier, after that bullshit thatis summer loli tiki, is because:

She has enough defense and resistance to tank a hit when she needs to from things like winter tharja, dragons, or often times effie herself, provided effie isnt running bold fighter. This bulk in 35/34 combined with her 48 hp means something has to hit her at least 82 damage to oneshot her which is crazy rare.

Her middling speed of 35 is enough to prevent natural doubles from most units i'd put her in front of, things like dragons, armors, or other bulky units not designed to doubled, examples of this are Sigurd, Gunnthra, Libra, Fjorm, Ike's, Ares, and so on. Cancelling a natural double lets her have even more survivability while supporting her allies.

Guidance and reposition are the biggest things though. Those two skills are so much better than dance or future vision that I'm upset people don't use them more often because holy fuck theyre good together. Anytime theres a pit, bridge, water, anything that normal units cant cross over, palla can simply reposition them over it or teleport them with guidance.

The best example I can give is that map that has three bridges in the arena. Palla shines liek a sueprnova on that map because she can facetank nearly anything if she sits on one of hte defense tiles, however if the threats are too huge she can simply move another ally out of dangers way by simply moving them over a water tile, thereby breaking enemy formation and allowing for easy pickings.

Palla's attack stat may not be the best, at a mere 48 when at +10 and neutral, but its more than enough to destroy most armored units, including bectors, even without sitting on a defense tile.

Then we come down to Drive spd that i use as her C slot. More often than not, that +3 spd has saved my units from dying to a double, while also preventing palla from being without range of something that could kill her either because her hp is too low or because she couldn't kill on retaliation because a second attack would hit her.

Then wings of mercy is largely just an insurance policy for when things go wrong but aren't an immediate loss. A good example is when I misjudged how much damage a myrrh would do to alfonse while he wasnt on a defense tile, and ended up needing to have palla on in, get him out of the way, and then facetank said myrrh, killing her on the counter attack.

Palla is the single most important unit on my core team. She's consistently gotten me out of bad situations, she only dies when I do something stupid with her, and just in general she is the most valuable unit on my account, even overtaking bridal sanaki and nephenee. When I call Palla my swiss army knife, people think of the knife on the right, when I think of her as the knife on the left.

- We need pkslowpoke to come in here and say anything under 45 Spd is trash and gets you doubled.
- I don't know if not getting oneshot is a very high regard when it comes to tanking...but then, it's probably a bit different in T20-21.
- I'm retarded and foddered of Tana for Spd/Def.
