+atk -def Ryoma (not flying)

Back on the DC banner also featuring Nowi and Dorcas, I got a +atk -def Ryoma, which turned out to be troublesome because this guy really can't tank. He'll survive one hit from pretty much anything, and that's going to be it. I was thinking of going all in with L&D, vantage, and draconic aura, which puts him at 58 atk 40 spd. The thing is, I only have one 4* Sothe and I was thinking of using L&D for Cordelia. (If anybody has something to say about heavy blade + QP vs L&D+HB on galeforce firesweep Cordelia, also please speak up.) I probably won't build Cordelia for a while (no satisfactory IV, don't plan to pull blues anytime soon), but I also don't see myself pulling colourless anytime soon either and I don't know when Sothe will show up again. And I'm considering to give Jaffar the weapon refine and stack savage blow in the coming TT but as we all know, dew is precious. (Otherwise I'll just buff Jaffar's attack and use him like an archer with 50atk 42spd.) Anybody have advice for Ryoma's build or how to manage the resources?

Well that's a half good iv, I really don't Seem why people put LnD on Ryoma, I think fury is the better option, it certainly helps Ryoma to quickly get into the vantage range, but -Def is bad. LnD would be suitable here but he'll rarely survive as you stated. LnD is a player phase skill (obviously) and there are ways on how people utilise certain skills.i think fury is better, but opinions are never facts as they say.

This might be a little harsh, but I'd say drop Ryoma and just focus on building up an Ayra or Karla, as they are just way better than the rest of the red sword infantry pool at this point. If you can't, just give him some budget skills to work with until you can replace him (Fury, Vantage, C skill, Heavy Blade, +Spd, +Atk, etc.)

I appreciate your idea, the idea doesn't bother me of relegating him to the B-team. However, I don't plan to pull for Karla because I want to save orbs for some Hector and B.Ike (whenever B.Ike gets a 3% or 5% banner). In the meantime I'm trying to get more use out of units I have sitting around and, if possible, fit them into TT teams to get hero merit off of them in the coming week.

Besides, these Ayra/Mia/Karla types are so mainline and straight-up, not my style. I prefer units/strategies that rely on team support, give a lot of team support, and become extremely powerful that way (ex: Camilla, Eirika).

I don’t have much input about Ryoma, even though I have an optimal IV +1 he just sits on the bench since I have way too many red sword units I’d rather use. It kind of sucks because Ryoma was the shiznit about a year ago and I would have killed to have him back then.

With Cordelia, the way to go is Heavy Blade in the A slot, along with Quickened Pulse for the seal of choice. Reasoning behind this, is upon her first attack (assuming she doubles and has higher Atk) Galeforce will activiate immediately and you can attack again. This build is very very reliable, I pretty much get her activation 99% of the time unbuffed even, but she is also in my flier emblem team that has Hone Fliers support to make sure it happens.

Thanks very much for this. That is the way I want to go, but I feel like 38 is a bit low for securing doubles. Heavy blade on 50atk definitely feels thin. (I don't expect to be able to merge her for a while.) 56/44, sure I'll play.

Have you tried it with hit and run? Does it mess up her positioning once galeforce activates?

You will be reliant on receiving a Hone Fliers buff unmerged, but will still be getting 44 Spd once you do which is definitely enough. You can also use Goad Fliers instead or in conjunction with to really get your Spd + Atk up there even higher. I used Hit and Run for a short stint, but it did mess with the positioning so I ditched it in favor of Swordbteaker to battle fast red swords like Ayra/Mia/Karla. I think Hit and Run would work better with LnD A slot Heavy Blade seal since you need her to stay alive for multiple rounds of combat to trigger Galeforce, unlike the immediate activation from the other build.
