Assume an F2P player. Whose kit and stats are best for F2P?

Who has the best stats at least at Neutral?
Who has the best kit?

That's my basis for picking the free unit.

Mostly depends on who you need. Armor Emblem is, arguably, the best Arena core due to BST if you can get the merges, but you don't need Armor Emblem to get a high enough score to stay in Tier 20.

If you're merging 175BST armours for arena score, L.Hector is the only candidate I would recommend because he gives fire blessing bonuses and he will be a regular on legendary banners. Don't forget that bonus unit soloing is the new meta

+Def Brave Hector also scores 175 and since he is a Brave Hero, he'll also show up on future Legendary banners and with both QR and Boldfighter and DC he's probably the better choice.

Probably Hector or Ephraim. Having a beast armored unit like them helps out in GHB, BHB, Tempest Trials, etc.

I don't recommend this way of doing it. Pick the unit that you only want one copy of, if there is one. That way you can forget about needing to pull for them again and you definitely save orbs from pulling for them on the unlimited copies 4-focus banner.

If you're not worried about merges or skill inheritance, Hector. He's got Sturdy Distant Counter, QR5 in his weapon, and Bold Fighter. What more do you want?

Hector has the best kit imo. He's tanky, and his base kit already has the ultimate combination of bold+vengeful fighter. Hector's weak against mages, but you can fix that up with a Deflect Magic SS. However, I suggest you roll before you pick. That way, you can choose whatever unit you don't get. Choosing first limit the colors you get to roll on, making it harder to stack up pity rate too.
