Armored Mage

Just thinking about all of the different types of character in this game and I realized there are no armored mages. Are there any in the main series? And would that even work as a character? I'm not really experienced, so I wonder what you guys think.

We do have yet to get a playable mounted bow unit. Luckily those do exist in the series, so it's only a matter of time.

From their nature classes... notable/playable characters
Andorey - Genealogy of holy war.
Astrid - Path of radiance.
Rath - Nomad from Blazing sword, but this class deserve as like as bow knight.
Sin, Sue - From Biding blade, same classes as Rath.

Who knows. I don't think these guys are above bending the lore as they have shown in the Spring heroes series. We would have never imagine Spring Camilla being a flying mage before it was actually a thing.

The moment they make an Armored staff is the moment I say good bye to Azama sama.

There is an game at playstore that have THIS as class. I think you heard about it. The mages lose hp for spell, just like FE Gaiden... the eleving up feeling---- anime style.... Critical quotes!

Copy of FE style

Actually, Camilla IS a flying mage in Fates, she is a dark knight or something, dont really remember the name. Granted, its an advanced class, but a flying mage nonetheless.

Well, the thing with that is Camilla is (by default) a Malig Knight in Fire Emblem Fates, which can wield an Axe as well as Tomes; Xander is a Paladin which can wield Swords and Lances; Chrom and Lucina are able to be classes that wield Axes and Tomes in Awakening, so it actually isn't that far fetched. In Fire Emblem Awakening with the Summer and Hot Spring Scramble DLC, certain classes were dressed differently than normal for those maps, so that concept isn't really that outlandish either. Also, an armored staff user would be pretty interesting, I'd love to have one for an Armored team, Especially with Heavenly Light! Though I don't think it would happen. I think it would be cool if units could wield different weapons based on the class that they are in their original game. Regardless, these concepts are exciting to think about!

Don't really care for an armored Mage..
A dancing (Green) mage,

*cough* Tethys *cough*

Is what I want..

Report

Tethys doesn't wield a weapon, nor has displayed any kind of power like Ninian, so I'm not sure what Intelligent Systems will do if Tethys and the rest of Sacred Stone's cast get into Heroes

If Arvis from FE4 comes to Heroes, he could be the first potential armored mage, since he appears as a Emperor in Chapter 10, which has Great Shield (the equivalent skill of Pavise in later games, learned by Generals) and possesses his signature tome, Valflame. If what I say is true, then Arvis will be an armored red tome unit with Attack possibly exceeding Effie (as Arvis had 30 magic in FE4) and Reinhardt's mixed defense. His speed wil be god-awful though, although Wary Fighter fixes this
