Armor Team opinion and A-skill for H!Jakob
I need an opinion on my Armor team. I'm not really doing so well in Arena since I'm trying to run a mixed team when playing. Some seals are not fully upgraded due to lack of resources. My Armors consist of:
Zelgius(Def+/Res-) +1 merge - Alondite, Swap, Black Luna, Fierce Stance 3, Vantage 3, Panic Ploy 3, Quick Riposte 2 seal
Effie(Def+/Spd-) +1 merge - Brave Lance+, Swap, Bonfire, Death Blow 3, Wary Fighter 3, Ward Armor, Heavy Blade 3 seal
Winter Chrom(Atk+/Res-) - Sack o' Gifts(need refining option), Swap, Bonfire, Brazen Atk/Def 3, Wary Fighter 3, Ward Armor, Panic Ploy 2 seal
Winter Tharja(HP+/Spd-) +3 merge w/ Summoner Support - Candelabra+(Res refine), Swap, Glacies, Close Counter, Vengeful Fighter 3, Ward Armor, Distant Defense 3 seal
I have a Halloween Jakob(+1 merge Res+/HP-) and Winter Lissa(Spd+/Def-) in training, Lissa working for Brave Ax+ and Death Blow while Jakob is grinding for SP. They could replace some of the units, but Jakob needs work since he needs a better A-skill. Close Counter would work since he has a Guard Bow+, but I only have one Winter Tharja left and I need Vengeful Fighter in case a Vantage seal shows up. What is a good alternative A-skill for Jakob?

I'd suggest running Ward Armor on everyone. That extra four defense and resistance will do you well. If you're not too in love with that W!Lissa, H!Jakob makes Bold Fighter SING, with him being ranged. You'd want to run him with a Brave Bow at that point. Then you could tack on Death Blow. Run Aether on him for the self-sustain.
I run my Armor Emblem with all Pivots. I understand the appeal of being able to rearrange your wall of units, but Pivot allows you to advance and retreat; to break up and regroup. I find it a lot more reliable, personally, especially since you aren't running any DC units besides Zelgius. Just my thoughts on it.

Since ur already going the ward armour route...jacob can reach up to 65 res on enemy phase (+12 dd, +12 ward and +6 gbow) hes perfect for good ol qr and bonfire. And u should really consider swaping out tharjas summoner support for him so he can survive being doubled by some macaiahs.
On another note....i think warp porder zelgius with reposittion is an option u should play around with since u dont really have armourmarch

I do have all three Armor Marchers:
Amelia(neutral) +1 merge - Def+Slaying, Reposition, Ignis, Earth Boost 3, Seal Defense 3, Armor March 3 and she sometimes runs the Panic Ploy seal
Halloween Henry(Atk+/HP-, super bane) - base skills. He needs lots of work and I usually don't have the skill fodder needed. Plus I rarely used him apart from being my Reinhardt check when he was a bonus unit in Arena.
Winter Robin(Spd+/Res-) - Spd+Tannenboom!+, Swap, Bonfire, Brazen Atk/Spd 3, Vantage 3, Armor March 3, Speed +3 seal
Don't let Amelia's set fool you since something incredibly crazy happened during the Winter's Envoy Arena. With two Ward Armors(Black Knight and Winter Tharja), a defense tile, Earth Boost 3, and refined weapon, she could take zero damage from a Quickened Pulse Black Luna. You're reading it right, a green unit got hit by a Black Luna to the face and took ZERO damage.

You know, I would swap someone out for Hector. Give him Aether, Vantage and Quickened Pulse Seal. That's how I run mine and he's been known to be MVP more than once. W!Chrom has more bite, sure, but it is hard to argue against a unit who can kill on bait and then have both Aether ready and access to Vantage.

Hector is, unfortunately, a double-edged sword(or ax in his case) since he's Def+/Atk-. His Bonfire, however, does hit with a bit more power though.
I'm short on feathers right now, so I need to wait for a while to promote regular Chrom. Sure I got regular Lucina, but she's my only one.

I never liked Hector. Liked his character in his game, but not necessarily in Heroes. Maybe because I have bias against using 'meta' units like Rein and Hector, even BLyn was soured for me honestly.
Dorcas' better movement and character suited me better. And his kit is great, considering giving him Guard and QR rather than QR and Close or Distant Defense, Specials are the only things that can penetrate the mutton.
Nevermind, I'm far off topic now XD

I expect that if we ever get true PvP, his Bold Fighter build will be the king of meta. Guaranteed Bonfire on both Phases will make him just so dangerous. Alas, in the current meta it's all about manipulating enemy AI, with the same old builds for every character. Steady Breaths value plummets if that ever happens.

My hope, and guess, is that it would be restricted to your Friends List. That will not only give it function, but would prevent such toxicity as it would simply be a fun distraction with no ladder to climb. I would LOVE that.
As for Fates, I had two teams that could counter the meta in that game. I was very proud of them, but I totally know what you mean.

Yes, I love the idea of co-op! I'd like some kind of like world event bosses, too. Maybe you deal damage until you're wiped. Or endless waves and you battle to see what the total kill count is. Things like that excite me, and I hope IS can incorporate at least one truly exciting thing within this year.
Fates was terrible for pretty much every reason. Yeah, the skill hunting was insane. On those two teams I created to counter the super offensive meta I spent probably 100 hours grinding and tweaking. And while it was super nice to find a way to beat it out, it was NOT worth it.

Ah, that bane issue. I'd still say it works, as I've never had someone live with 6 or less health (my current Hector I run this build on is +HP -Defense) but I can see you being wary. If you think it'll work for you, I say go for it, but I certainly get it.
It might hurt getting rid of him, but Berkut's Lance DC Effie is easily one of the best builds in the whole game, I wager. It was hard to shell of a Hector, but the results have been nothing short of amazing. Very few things kill her, mainly just buffed up Blade Nino and Blade Cecilia. I, too, run this build with Aether and Heavy Blade Seal. If he isn't being put to work, maybe sacrificing this Hector for her is your best move.
