Is anyone else tired of seeing the same sonuvabitching B!Lyn, Reinhardt, Blade Cecilia, Double DD3 Xander meme teams in Arena?

Every team I run into in tier 18 is this or some close variant, and it's pretty hard to deal with when none of my own cavalry is bonus. This wouldn't irk me as much as it does if I ACTUALLY SAW ANOTHER TEAM COMP MORE THAN ONCE EVERY FOUR MATCHES. Do I have to break down and build a raven Mage? Is there no other way to halt the Lynpocalypse?

Also, the seasons with the map that has the two walls on the left and right get on my nerves. No matter what team I run, that map almost always results in casualties.

To quote myself from another thread, "It has gotten stale. Up until this month it was getting to the point where one had to run a Green Mage with TA/Raven. Fortunately, the new seals should make some other units viable as counters/checks. But it is boring to see Brave Bow, Dire Thunder, and a dancer spammed constantly.

Once upon a time you could avoid the tedium a bit by switching up BSTs to land on a different level of arena scoring... But, lately, I've found that heavily merged Reinhardts have permeated every level of the arena. It's a bit exasperating to run armor emblem, win five battles, and then have your deathless ruined by a 5*+6 Reinhardt."

Yeah, i got the same impression this season.
I never get so many horses as i did this time around, i was battling at the 712 range, and had to figth nothing but +10 thundercok and +10 lyns.
Some asshole even had 2 lyns in the same team, one with mulagir and the other with brave bow, this is getting annoying fast.

Arena variety? Haven't heard of such thing. The problem is that I doubt it will improve, because they would have to release even stronger characters and make them somehow easily obtainable (like Reintard at 4* or Lyn for free).

As for a decent meta counter - Raven+ TA3 bowbreaker moonbow Julia survives and kills both Reinhardt and B.Lyn with +10 merges and hone+fortify cavalry in the same round. I'm using this build in my arena team to just deal with this cancer.

I thought the Sacred Seals Forge update would help...but then they immediately released Ayra! So much for that.

Haiz, I can't believe I got 5 more Eldigans whilst rolling for Ayra... :(

And yes, I'm also sick and tired of seeing the same team comps every 2 battles, especially with those B!Lyn(s) being cowards by hiding behind strong walls. I'd love to use my near-completion dragon team, but with all those Nagas flying around it makes it harder to have fun with team comps.

Although Reinhardts are terrifying, I find them easy to lure around especially in the wind tribe desert map. However, using Mr. Tiny Hands just gets rid of the excitement of experimenting new techniques, and I hate to use my own thunder's fist to destroy all the efforts put in by creative players. The season with the two walls really screws over your deathless runs.

P.S. IS is a dick for releasing Ayra with Eldigan.

Absolutely. This is my number one frustration with the current state of things. The meta isn't hard to counter, per say, but it stifles creativity. It's a shame - I use to see unusual builds frequently in the arena but it's become more and more uniform. It's just boring to go up against the same team six times in a row, especially when you have to field the same kind of units each season in order to counter them. This is why I built an anti-Reinhardt Felicia but, really, since Reinhardt is almost always accompanied by B!Lyn that's not a great tactic...so back to the Green Mages running TA/Raven.

It's because no one really builds a defensive team, they just take their most op units they raised for infernal battles. I'm guilty of it too, though I go with my Eliwood over B!Ike for the mobility/red

Though in essence I'm really just swapping B!Roy for daddy.

Also since Cecilia is in season, ta green raven tomes aren't too bad of a thing to have anyway. Bowbreaker works wonders too

Huh. No one builds defense teams? I know I do... I usually field cheap cheesy builds making heavy use of Wings of Mercy... Then wait for my first win that will net me 900 feathers before switching over to unusual experimental units for the remainder of the season. I was under the impression that many other players did the same.

Well, there is quite a few answers to this teams, especially since they are so meta.
Green Raven/TA , Panic Ploy, Beorc blessing, Mulagir, Zanbato, Horsebane and the new heroes Sigurd, Deirdre and Arvis may bring some decent alternatives to your problem as well.

This is true... But, at least for me, it's not that I can't counter the meta it's that it has made the arena incredibly boring. For a specific example, I use to have fun tossing an armor emblem team out in the arena for a closely contested match against other armor emblem teams but lately heavily merged Reinhardt rears his ugly face every few matches.

In any case, I'm loving the new upgraded seals as they make a lot of units viable again. Caeda, for instance, can now tank Reinhardt (technically she could before but now she can with a lot less effort).

The new seals have been a godsend as now I can run Fae again. <3 Screw you, Lyn. I've actually been swapping Arena offensive teams a lot the past couple weeks. The only unit that has remained the glue of the team that entire time is Brave Lucina. I've come to the conclusion she's secretly the most versatile of the Brave units and definitely the most overlooked. Even Ayra doesn't worry me when my Lucina pushes Black Knight to upper 40s speed and Bowlyn to something obscene like 55 with Summoner Support.

Of course, I'm sure people will figure out soon enough how broken Lancina and Ayra are together. May Naga save us from this Powerhouse Princess Partnership.

You can run Raven Cecilia right now as a bonus unit, which dumpsters the majority of ponies pretty hard. DD Xander still gets wrecked by blues. Cavalry are all vulnerable to Panic Ploy, which can now be run on a seal. A cheaply built Boey or Female Robin with Raven Tome/TA will stomp through what most players are running right now. Physical blues like Brave Lucina, Nephenee, Oscar, Camus, etc. all stomp Xander. You can run Swordbreaker on most if you're worried about speed with Brave Roy.

I was winning 10-15 defenses a week for the past couple weeks using a non-Cavalry defensive comp. This week, I won, no joke, 4 defenses between 3 a.m. the day the new season started and 10 a.m. where I finally remembered to swap out the team for a bonus unit. Since then with my pony defense team? I can't buy a win.

Yeah you have to break down and build a TA green mage. Adapt to the meta, thats how metagames work. Eventually the meta will shift and you'll have a useless green mage and everyone has useless reinhardts. Only metashifts are going to make this stop. As of the current meta nobody is going to build a defensive team because defensive teams are absurdly easy to pick apart where as RKO horses are the most likely to net a perfect arena defense score by causing rage quit.
Best you can do is accept that you WILL rage quit, but do your best to kill three units first to fuck their score from it.

To be honest, I'm benefitting off of this Arena staleness. Arthur is a little-known solid answer to Reinhardt because of his surprisingly decent Res and solid offensive stats. I slapped him on my defense team with WoM 3 and I rake in about 5-6 successful defenses per week.

Could you talk about your arthur some more? I am having no luck with my defensive teams lately, but that might be because I've been running similar variations of my team for months now (ryoma, sharena, julia, normal azura).

I'm pretty bummed out that my tactics are now basically obsolete and it has made thw game significantly less fun to play.
