Arena T20 and AA advise. Please help!

I'm tired of T19.5 purgatory and would like to try to stay in T20 and score higher in AA. I know I can do this if I have a unit(s) with a bunch of merges. My question is which unit (in the 3* and 4* pools) should I invest in? I'm mostly F2P so 5* exclusive units are off the table. Masked Lucina is the only unit I have at +5 and is kind of part of my arena core as my dragon/green unit check currently. If possible I'd like to keep her in my core but I'm open to other red unit suggestions.
Units I'm considering to +10 are:
Caeda, Cordelia (both of whom will be part of a flier team together) Olivia, (M) Robin, (F) Robin (I already have many copies just waiting but not enough feathers)
Nowi and (A) Tiki (I don't have many copies of them so this could take awhile)
I'm also considering on trying to +10 Fjorm (mine's at +1) since most of my summonings lately have been on the Legendary Banners but this all depends on my luck so yea...
What do you guys think? What units should I focus on? How should I build said units? Are there any units that I missed, that are super meta/useful? I'd appreciate any and all advise! Thank you!

I’d suggest taking a strong 3*-4* available unit and build them to 5*+10. Hana is a very good candidate for this, as are many others you named. Donnel is also extremely strong at max merge. And there’s Nino and Tharja.

Dragons are the obvious choice (Nowi, Fae, A. Tiki, etc.), but some budget armor units like Sheena, Effie/Gwendolyn, Zephiel, even Draug, can be made extremely strong. Any unit you can get your hands on that does well in arena (even a horse emblem type team with Frederick, Reinhardt, Xander and others) would be a good candidate.

A +5 masked marth is a perfectly good start. Nowi is also a good idea - the best build for her is the Steady Breath + Aether set on this site. I would not recommend adult Tiki as she actually does not have any BST bonus, unlike most other dragons. Also red is not a great color to duplicate.

Other units worth a long term merge project include Nino, Cherche, Frederick, Fae, Sheena, Effie, Cordelia and Gwendolyn.

For what it's worth, my team just made the cut this week and was comprised of a 4*+10 Nowi, 5*+7 Fae (both running SB/Aether/QR3/Ploy/Split Rally), and 5*+2 Ayra and BLucina, with Ayra running DC/wrath /regnal astra and Lucina running Fury/Renewal/Aether. Both have drive skills and split rallies.

It takes freaking forever. Luck. Time. Effort. So be prepared for that.

Make +10 A!Tiki, Nowi, and Sheena as a core. and there you go. I hear that some people use +10 Reinhardt and Nino, or +10 Olivia as well. Really depends on BST inflation, and skill SP value...

+10 Female corrin is underrated as well but also easy to pull dupes...working on her too with her dark breath role! :)

Everyone should have a 5-10 Sheena dang it.... so very useful of a unit......

I’ve got 4 sitting in my barracks, I just need to decide what I want to do with my feathers for now.

High merge is one obvious thing but a couple more tips:
1) Skills like Aether and Bold/Vengeful Fighter give higher rating/score in arena than other skills.
2) Armored units generally have higher rating. Dragons are usually higher as well. Mage, cavalry and flyers are usually the lowest in my experience.
3) To see your current highest BST units, use advanced sorting in your allies page, sort by “rating” and click the eye icon so you can see the numbers. This will give you a starting point for knowing your best units for arena scoring.

If you want top 1000 in AA, you need four +10 of the newest armors, and all four need aether. I scored 5170 this week and ranked around 1350 or so.

You need a team with 5 fortress res. If not, you're doing it all wrong.

Fae would be a great choice since she is available at 4*, can take care of Brave Lyn and Reinhardt which Masked Lucina obviously can't, and has boosted BST. She also has great support options including the ability to run infantry pulse or panic ploy.
