Arena score - what am I doing wrong?

I’ve been trying forever to make it to the Great Summoner arena tier, but haven’t been able to make it yet. I’ve been using one bonus hero and three units with over 180 BST, all with good high-cost skill sets. My most recent score after winning 5 straight matches was 3,660. I think this is the highest score I’ve been able to get, but it’s not even enough to keep me in Tier 20 at this point. How can I boost my arena score to finally get that crown?

He could be running two L!tiki's, and one H!Myrrh?

But more likely he misunderstood what BST (BASE stat total) means, and was including either merge stats, or weapon Mt into his count.

Report

My assumption is that he uses the "rating" sort type. Sees the 180 number, and assumes this is the BST, when it's some outdated meaningless number. Since it factors Fury into the BST and other nonsense. I use that value to help me pick a unit to help increase my AA match as I don't have super high merged units, and been at tier 19.5 for normal arena, and in the top 20k for AA (rarely will be top 10k).

Report

Sorry, should’ve been clearer about this - I suppose my H!Myrrh is the only one really over 180. Summoned supported Myrrh+5, H!Myrrh+1, L!Tiki, and H!Kagero were my team for this run. I didn’t bother unequipping Kagero’s skills, she’s just for arena points.

What merged units do you have? Kagerou isn't gonna do much for you if you have L!Tiki and H!Myrrh. You only need one bonus unit. Leave either Tiki or H!Myrrh and use other highly merged units if you have them. If you leave Tiki, you can get a better score by using Earth-blessed units since it's Earth season.

Summoner Support doesn't give you more score, in case you don't know.

Thanks for this information - I guess I just assumed summoner support would help me. I have a +10 Reinhardt and +7 L!Robin, those are unfortunately my most heavily merged units. I always focused on getting higher stat totals since I didn’t understand the scoring system

3,660 is 732 a match, or 720 a match before bonus kills.

You need to be hitting closer to 742 before bonus kills to stay in T21 (I think lower to get into T21)

As Dannwond asked, show arena team so we can help you out.

Here's what affects your score:
- BST, it works on bins, every 5 points on BST will increase your score (170BST will score the same as 174BST), it's calculated ignoring weapons, skills and merges
- SP, it also works on bins, every 100 SP spent on the units will increae your score (1800SP scores the same as 1890SP)
- Merges, every merge will increase your score
- Bonus kills, every time your bonus units gets a kill you will obtain 3 bonus points
- Blessing, if you have the Legendary hero when his blessing is active and your team has the same blessing.

Your error is that you're focusing too much on BST when merges are what counts the most, for example if we compare Nino to L!Tiki both without any weapon or skills a Nino+4 will score 2 more points than L!Tiki, that's just how much weight merges has.
If i remember correctly a character score increases by 4 for every merge and by 2 for every bin.
There's also the bonus unit system where if you get all the kills with the bonus unit you can get up to 60 bonus points which can very well make the difference.
Here's my core and i'm at t20.5

Wow wait... a +4 Nino = L Tiki?! Can you explain good sir?

We know L Tiki is 180. It says Nino is 147. I thought a merge increased BST by 2 points (meaning Nino+4 is 155). I am probably wrong but can you explain what I am missing?

Report

So how much does a merge increase the score? Please start with just a single merge, or an example if it differs for some reason. Sorry I’m confused on this. Trying to get smarter

Report

Yes, just make sure to equip them with seals and high sp skills, furthermore you can always enter AA and look if your score increases.
