Arena Kills Change

I just wanted to know how everyone feels about the change to arena that had Focus Units gain extra points for kills now that we have had a few months to process it and see how it properly functions.

Personally I still hate and and I don't bother with Arena much anymore other than for the 4 orbs I get at the end of each week.

I'm indifferent about it. Arena was always crap with how it determines scoring, and at least for me PVP content will never be very fun.

Comparing to how it was before, it is better, slightly... It is a bad mechanic that should never exist imo, but the arena was so bad previously that it actually feels a bit better after the change. Still, it should be completely revamped.

I do have to agree that it does 'fix' Arena kind of? It needs some sort of change, but I don't think this was the fix. I have no clue what they could do though to fix it without pissing people who are heavily invested into the current arena system.

Personally i think that arena was less fun before this system, as all you had to do was getting a strong core and playing color matching to win, now you have to go out of the way to take unfavorable matchups to score higher and personally i like that.
Maybe tone it down a little bit, like getting 1 point per bonus unit kill instead of 3, this way those who take the harder route still get a reward for it and those who still take the "easy" way with color matching don't lose too much.

People argue that it's bad because they can't use the character they like, but it's not like it was that different before as if you want to rank higher you still had to build a high BST unit instead of your favorite.
If you just want to use your favorite character there are so many modes you can do it, arena is the "competitive mode" and as much it has to have some restrictions, like in many other games.

I also like it.

The old arena became stale and boring once I finished my core team. Every week was exactly the same, with my core abusing the WTA to get the kills and the bonus unit being there just to provide score.

After the change, arena became a lot more interesting. Every 2 weeks I am building a new unit to be effective and not just to provide score, but I am also tweaking my core so they can work the best with him/her.

The change also make me look twice at the skills I have and enjoy things like chills, smokes, feints, ploys, etc. instead of just slaping QR or Desperation to maximize kills. Even IVs that I considered bad before can now be more useful.

It is also nice that the new duel skills opened the spectrum of viable core units by only taking away the A slot, which is the least useful one in the current arena. They and the arena changes made me want to build new +10 units that otherwise I would have not.
