Are you satisfied?
From when you began to play, are you satisfied? Are the units you got so far are the ones you wanted? Personally my barraks are quite full of units I'm fond of, and I usually get what I want, so exept the last dry month, the game has been good with me. I have a lot of builded strong teams and I can beat pretty much anything. What about you?

For the most part yes, the only way I don't feel really satisfied is when we lack new content for half a month or so, or when I get really high pity percentage on a normal banner, only to get pity broken by bad units (I.E Getting a poor IV Abel when spending 100+ orbs for my baby L'arachel )

Well, been playing since launch, so Ive had time to collect my fair share of fun units. That being said, most of them have pretty bad IV's, and I mean bad. Like -atk+def Neko Sakura is one of those unmentioned units that I have sitting around. Ill say sure, Im satisfied, recently Ive focused on min maxing units I like, so I cant really say that I dont regret getting those bad IV units though XD

There are some units I'd like to get simply because either their niche is exclusive or their playstyle suits me kind of game. And there are also other units that I like to get due to being a fan of their origin game. I am a fan of the Tellius series and I got about like 75% of the cast: Micaiah, Ike, Sothe, Soren, Mia, Elincia, Black Knight, and Oscar

I'm *mostly* satisfied, although I will say that I still have more than one MAJOR gripe with the game. I have to say, it is much better now than it was at launch.
For one thing, SI significantly changed the landscape of the game for the better. Orbs are easier to come by now than they were in the beginning (although summon rates and orb prices are still a mess). There are now at least a handful of free 5* units available to everyone, so even new players will have something viable in their barracks early on. Regular events such as Voting Gauntlets, Tempest Trials, rotating Special Battles, and now Tap Battles and Blessed Gardens help break up the monotony of endless Training Tower and Arena runs.
However, I have to say that the game could be much better.
I can't say for sure whether this is specific to me, or applies to everyone, but I have ATROCIOUS summoning luck. Case in point: I just dropped 129 orbs(75 of which I bought) into the old spring banner - trying for Springtime Thot since I missed her last year and she'll have a place on my flier team now - and got nothing. I'm now sitting on a pile of Arthurs, Bartres, Barsts and Sorens - not to mention the 3 Gwendolyns, 2 Robin (M)'s, 2 Ests and a Peri I got since I was also pulling for S!Lucina - and a heap of disappointment.
This is the primary remaining issue of the game for me: not only are 5* drop rates wildly inconsistent (some sessions I'll pull 2-3 5* from 50 orbs, others I'll go 100+ without a single one), but orb prices are inexcusably high. For anyone spending $40+ on pixels... guaranteed 5* pulls should be a thing. And this isn't the only time this has happened to me... I'd be embarrassed to admit the total amount of money I've spent on FEH since release, just to get access to 80% of the viable units in the game because they happen to be locked behind that 5* drop rate. (Looking at you, $160 Summer Corrin...) I'm not quite at whale levels, but in retrospect I've definitely spent more than I should have.
People have kicked around potential solutions to the orb price/drop rate problem since the game came out - personally, I think orbs should cost 1/4 to 1/10 what they do now, any orb purchase of $20 or more should come with a guaranteed 5* drop, and non-focus 5* drops should be removed - but however well any proposed changes may work, they're a moot point as long as IS refuses to implement them.
Would my suggestions further reward whales for pouring unconscionable amounts of money into their rosters? Yeah. But really, the power of whales only extends to Tier 20 Arena, which I steer well clear of since whales have already ruined it, and to thinly-veiled humblebrag posts here in Q&A showing off their newest 5*+10 units, which I can easily skip over. In the end, whales gonna whale; I say give the rest of us a bump and let us get more for our limited money.
Also - and again, this may just be my case - the combination of unnecessarily low drop rates, pity breakers, and randomized IV's tends to screw players over far more often than not. All too often, I'll feel excited/relieved to finally summon the 5* I want, only to find out it has suboptimal or straight up piss-poor IV's. The fact that players can go from elation at finally summoning a character they want, right back to abject disappointment when they realize it has garbage IV's... shouldn't be a thing. When I summon a 5* unit I want, there shouldn't be an asterisk afterward, like "hey cool, I finally got Spring Kagero!..... too bad she's +res/-spd". Again, take this as you will, some people don't mind IV's but I seem to attract especially bad ones even in the rare instances I actually get 5* at any sort of acceptable rate.
In spite of those problems, and my regret over spending so much on FEH, I would say that I'm reasonably satisfied with my status. I finally have effective, reliable cavalry, flier, and armor teams; I have *most* of the limited-time/seasonal units I've wanted; and I can take on almost anything the game throws at me. (Tier 20 isn't worth the trouble imo, and many of the Infernal maps they release cross the line from "challenging" into "straight BS", but other than those, virtually everything else.) Ultimately, I spend an hour or two a day on average playing FEH, and I'm generally comfortable with the position I'm in.
Anyway, that's my two cents.

First of all, guaranteed 5* drops for a small $20 cost would make many F2P or minnows feel quite bitter that they don't get the same odds as everyone else with the same amount of orbs. I would feel pretty miffed if a dolphin or whale, who are spending money on the game for a better chance at a 5* anyways, automatically got a guaranteed 5*, while I was stuck rolling with a greater number of orbs and no guarantee.
In addition, the FEH summon rates are extremely generous for a gacha game. What people don't realize is how great having 6% total for a 5*, in addition to pity rates, is. The FEH gacha is by far the best out there. Want to see really crappy summon rates? I made a post about it a while ago, titled "A Little Thought on IS and Generosity." Read it if you want to see how great the FEH summoning system is.

I think a larger issue than the drop rate (which as pointed out isn't too bad compared to most other gacha games) is the unit summoning pool itself. A cleansing of the "pity breaker" units from the 5* pool especially would go a long way to helping improve the quality of summons. And by "bad" i mean units like Jakob, Abel, Meric, Ogma etc, we all know the ones.
The IV issue should also be addressed and would be fairly simple to do so through a type of reroll system that would probably cost orbs to use. The system could grant a new random IV set for a selected unit (it would have to be a DIFFERENT set because "randomly" rolling the same set would be unacceptable) for lets say the same cost as a summon of 5 orbs. This would placate most of the disgruntled player base over the issue while at the same time still encourage people who buy lots of orbs to continue to roll for new IVs until they get the ones they want.

Thank you, the fact that you have a good chance of getting a 5* does not mean it will be a desirable.
IV rerolling should be a thing, however, it definitely needs to be something you can do multiple times, since you have the chance to end up with a shittier IV than you began with.

To your first point... as you said, whales already have a better shot at 5* rolls than F2P. And as I said, all the 5*+10 units in the world only matter in a VERY limited number of places. Just as whales choose to spend money on the game, F2P (including you, I gather) choose not to. Giving a guaranteed 5* at $20 would be good news for whales, but it would also make 'dolphins'/'minnows'/'trout'/whatever feel like they're not wasting their money. To be brutally honest, FEH (like all gambling games) is designed to favor players who will consistently spend money over those who won't. It's an unfair, shitty business model, but perhaps a necessary evil for mobile games of this quality to exist at all.
(For what it's worth, 20 is the lowest 'gateway' number I can think of: if everyone got a free 5* every $5 or $10, every time a banner with new units dropped everyone would just spend $5 or $10 and be done, making the whole thing boring. $20 strikes me as a nice balance between 'comparable to buying DLC for any other game' and 'now I've spent too much'.)
As to your second point... no offense, but who cares? We're not talking about other gacha games, we're talking about FEH. The ACTUAL drop rates are inconsistent enough to merit a redesign, or at the very least, a massive cleanup of the pity breaker pool as manikatti suggested.
Getting a 5* unit is rare enough that it should never be disappointing. Yeah, it's just my opinion, but I feel that by including non-focus 5* in almost every banner, IS is giving us the finger and denying us a sense of agency in our own summoning. But again, that's coming from a guy who's repeatedly dropped 100+ orbs on banners and gotten nothing. Maybe I'm just salty.

Norlt really. The game has given a couple of units that are neat (Zelgius and B!Lyn), but for the most part, eh. I've received a lot of mediocre or somewhat decent units (Sheena and Lute come to mind). I wish there was a more reliable way of getting slightly better heroes.

I've played since launch and overall I'm satisfied. The game has continually improved with new game modes and character customization options. Kudos to IS for keeping my attention for over a year now.
I've chosen not to focus on creating max +10 units, and instead have been trying to promote as many different units to 5* as possible (115 different 5* now). Part of what I enjoy about the game is training up and building units with different builds and trying out the new skills released. The only part of the game I "miss out" by doing this is getting to tier 20 in arena (which I'm fine with).
I would say the things I'd like to see improved:
1. Blessed Gardens is fun, with great rewards, but the pace they release new maps is WAY too slow.
2. Voting Gauntlet is probably the most boring mode. Can only play once every 30 minutes, and the rewards for scoring well are lackluster. (The VG quest rewards are good) It would be nice to have more incentive to play this mode as I do like using the units on my friends list.
3. Divine Dew is so rare, there are a lot of units with interesting refined weapons I'd like to try, but I only have a limited supply of dew...
4. Summoning is really fun, I love the high/low feelings you get. But, when you've played a long time the only units I find valuable are 5*, or 3/4 star units with good fodder skills (Hinata, Selena, Fae, Shanna, etc...) It seems like most of even the 4* units I get now are not interesting. I'd love to be able to trade them in for Divine Dew vs. feathers.
Just my random thoughts for the day.

In regards to getting the units I want, I'd say the only unit I've always really wanted but never received is Azura...none of the variants. Lord knows I've tried...
I just take what the RNG gods provide, which is pretty good most of the time. I know I'll never get all the units so I try and be happy with the units I do get, and if I get crappy IVs...in my opinion most of the time these can be corrected with inherited skills and special seals. Maybe it matters in tier 20 arena, but in almost all PvE content (90% of the game) bad IVs can be overcome with skill inheritance, weapon refinery, and by assembling a supporting team with the necessary buffs.

Yeah, I feel content with what I've got. I've been playing since launch and there's a lot of units that I've missed that I really wanted like Bridal Cordelia and Witch Nowi, but honestly, I've got other great units that I wouldn't trade for any of the ones I missed. Well maybe Lukas and Matilda. At least hawkeye has death blow and threaten atk, but those two are trash.

I'm content with the units I have right now. I got pretty nice units with good IVs like Zelgius, Nino, Sothe, Hardin, and Olivia. However, I do want units I want like Morgan m, A!tiki, Grima m, and Inigo. Though I don't have many good units and makes it a hindrance for me in squad and AA.
