Are you changing your Sacred Seal upgrade priority?

After upgrading Distant Defense to 3 and buying Deflect Magic, I sat on the remainder of my coins for TT. I'd be interested to hear if anyone else thinks one of the new SSs has more value than say Spd/Atk+3 or Panic Ploy.

My initial thoughts: Attack Smoke is nice to have since sacrificing a Bowlyn for it is unfathomable. Players using Firesweep Bridalia should consider prioritizing it. It also makes L&D sweeper builds on characters like B!Roy and Cordelia easier to run as it weakens targets so they can take a hit.

I assume Guidance is still limited to flier units. This might be the most intriguing of the three as Guidance has a lot of unexplored potential from being locked behind Tana for so long. Now you can basically run the more easily attained Cordelia in her place.

I feel like Brash Assault is going to be the seal people are most excited for, as it's always had potential if not for eating up a valuable skill slot. I'm not sold on it for Arena purposes though. Usually by the time you can reliably set a unit up to trigger Desperation/Brash Assault, the match has been decided. It is going to be a PvE monster though.

As much as I'm excited for these new seals, I'm still leaning toward upgrading Panic Ploy to 3 and Speed to 3 shortly thereafter (I believe I'll have around 266 coins after today's Arena bonuses are handed out and from the 80 coins from TT). But I'd be interested to hear some alternate opinions/discussion.

P.S. Can I get some Fs in the chat for everyone who sacrificed a Tana for Guidance?

I don’t think many people sacrificed Tana for Guidance unless she had a bad nature. And then, it’s not like she has much else to offer for SI, and not every character who can use Guidance effectively would want to use up their S-slot on Guidance anyway.

You can see how S-slot is quickly becoming the most important slot (tied with A slot) in defining heroes roles.

Quoted for truth. The S-slot has come a long way since just being a placeholder for Quickened Pulse (which, until, what, two Tempest Trials ago, was a much sought-after skill).

Yeah, I'm glad they're doing a lot of cool things with it now. I hope they keep adding rare skills like Infantry Pulse to the seal pool that will start making pony alternatives viable in Arena.

You know what would be super kene please add this with a cherry on top though? Iote's Shield. That might be my #1 top request in fact so Flier Emblem can finally compete on an even playing field in Arena.

Funny enough not too much, I went with DD3 right away, got Deflect Magic 1 same as you, then I ended up getting Squad Ace D 3 for Ayra and Summer Robin. Originally I was going to get the regular Speed +3 or wait for Squad Ace E 3, but since Brash Assault came out I’m probably aiming for that next.

It’s very game changing for a lot of units and will give units like my Berkut or Alfonse some actual relevance. I like the idea of Desperation Cherche and Chrom since they have really a really nice Defence stat for tanking and will basically allow them to kill units they have WTD against (except most TA mages of course). I know a lot of people argue about the HP requirement (on the subreddit especially), but having used Cherche, Berkut, and Ayra for some time now, I find that they can reach that threshold quite easily after getting hit just once.

I’m liking Guidance since Armour-Flier hybrid teams have some of the best team synergy IMO, but having to build 3 unit teams whilst needing 2 of each unit is quite annoying, but I suppose I can just ignore Blade Tome and run a regular flier, I haven’t thought about it yet, too focused on Brash Assault right now.

Yeah, I get what you're saying about Brash Assault. I've been trying to think of what units I use that could make use of it. Xander actually is one, though i tend to run DD on him in Arena. Cherche is definitely another one, though my Flier Emblem team still lacks a Hinoka or Elincia. It's certainly an intriguing seal to say the least. I admit, I tend to lean toward guarantees in Arena which always makes me a bit cautious about conditional skills.

I wonder how it would work on dragons who can bait a mage/archer, then switch into offensive mode once below 50% HP. Also, I can see BA Effie being an absolute monster.

Actually I'm not sure who I should use brash assault on. If I ever got a regular lyn, give her vantage and brash assault seal maybe? looking forward to it though

Chrom too. BA, Delthea buffed Chrom with Desperation and Brave Sword+ I'm pretty sure would murder anything short of a Wary Fighter armor unit.

Probably not. I prioritized upgrading Distant Defense but then, instead of going for Deflect Magic 3, I upgraded several seals to level 2. Now I'll probably finish RES+3 for my Boey and Deflect Magic 3 for my Lilina (so she can surprise tank/KO Reinhardt on a defense team). The new seals are interesting...but not interesting enough to upset my current projects.

Lol, yesterday I inherited Attack Smoke onto Lukas from one of my extra bad IV Lyns.

Personally I think I will be upgrading Guidance; my arena defense team is armored units, and they could use the surprise factor to get more wins.

Sacred Seals are tricky to put on people. Like, I'll probably add the Brash Assault seal on my Ike rather than Lukas, even though he could use it better, as I want the Def +3 seal to give him a bit more nuking power. Sacrificing a Tana to get guidance can still be a good pick, since if you gave the guidance SS, you would be replacing what could potentially be a more useful A or B slot skill for a C slot skill. Same with Attack Smoke. I don't regret giving it to Lukas, as it suits my build and I don't really need another C skill, and would rather have 45 base defense with the SS.
