Are (M) Robin and (F) Robin considered the same unit?

With the potential release of a new (F)(L) Robin, I wanted to hear everyone else opinion on whether male and female Robin can even be considered the same character. This goes for other units who have alternative characters that are from different games or simply different due to a players choice. (i.e. Corrin, Ike, Morgan, and Tiki

Well, F and M Robin are different characters, thus why Rob has his own forms and F Robin has her own as well. Plus, they're from different versions of the World of Awakening as far as I can tell.

Mostly agree with this. They play out differently in story, Heroes and personality enough to distinguish them a bit. If we do get that new Robin as a legendary, to me that means both male and female Robin have 3 versions vs. 6 overall.

Having said that, it's impossible to deny that many will see that as 6 versions, which will annoy some. Probably would be a good idea then to hold off on the Awakening 3 for a bit while other unitd get more forms. So far only 4 characters can be an Emblem team - Lyn, Lucina, Robin and Chrom. As much as I'd love one last Lucina either in green or colorless, time to let other games get more versions of the main cast.

Same thought. And I for one think both Rob's will get Grandmaster and Grima versions, I kinda just feel it. But as you have said, we could use some different units on the to get train.

I wanted to say NO, but yes they are the same.

I personally don't like to have 5 versions of the same hero, this way IS will make 5 or more Lucina, Camilla, Ike, Lyn and others that already have 2 or more versions.
