AR def issues
I'm a bit fed up with the defense losses. I don't know if the players are too good or if my setup is poor or I just don't have the kind of units that will defend successfully against this kind of player.
If I've calculated this correctly, you pretty much have to have exactly certain units with exactly certain builds to beat this setup without losing units, and yet people keep showing up with exactly those or winning the gambles when they pick a trap to dive into for galeforce. Or are there actually many ways to break through this setup and I'm just not seeing it?

You may not get panicked but you still get -3 to all stats, which while not gamebreaking it does help the attacker.
My score has been great, I am top 200, I'm not top 100 simply because I lost some units on offense due to really stupid mistakes (I never lost a match though, and only once I lost 2 units in the same match)
My defenses... not so great. When I was in the lower tiers I had some wins. This week not a single win and only once I managed to kill 2 units on the first attack of the day (and it was also due to the attacker making mistakes)
I need to reformulate my defense, but I will do that next week maybe, this week it will have no impact in my tier, I will be short of a few hundred points to reach tier 18 this week anyway.

I was shooting for T16 to T18 this week and it looks like I'm going to miss because I've lost so much on defense. Assuming I play perfectly on offense and miss at most a single aether structure in 7 matches, my defense only has 20 lift left to lose. Big downer. Really makes me wish I hadn't missed a few runs during the first season because the season ended mid-day. The 30 more stones I should have had from 3 seasons are starting to make a big difference because now I'll have to wait until two days into the next season to get my 5th unit on offense.

I haven't miss a single aether structure, but to be honest you don't need all of them. Last season I ended with like 50 aether and couldn't do anything with it. There's leeway to miss some structures in a season.
Hmm, what have you spent your stones on? I've had a 5 unit on offense for almost 2 weeks.

Bonus structures and 5th member defense. Next week I get 5th member offense and I'm probably going to skip the defensive bonus structure because I don't even like the catapult and I'm probably getting to T18 even if my defense bombs.
I try to keep up in offensive fortress levels because it gets really dicey if they have lv 2+1 and five members. If I lose I don't get an easy win against them on def. If someone comes with a 2+1 fortress and five members and raids me, I probably rematch them because it's hard for them to have five defenders against my four attackers, and if they do they're probably missing a bonus structure so I have at least stat advantage to let them double-team me.

See the conversation with AniCre. Myrrh will get hit with watersweep, debuffed for 24 points (6 of which to her res), and then Gunnthra attacks with a pre-charged glimmer. If you try to put her where my bolt tower is, Reinhardt will shove Saizo out of the way so that Gunnthra can connect. AniCre has M.Grima+10 buffed up to 36 res with 49 base HP and he will get OHKO'd.

Myrrh has 34 Res at base. +6 from Fortify Dragons from H!Myrrh, +2 from ally support, +3 from Spur Res Smolzura, totalling 45 Res before being debuffed. Not to mention Great Flame will allow her to take 1 hit from each unit minus Reinhardt. Haven't done the calcs but I'm confident Myrrh can take some damage.

Even my Micaiah (who has color disadvantage) would survive that hit from Gunthra.
Assuming those 75 damage are multiplied by 1.2 (I'm not sure all of those are, isn't it just her attack and not the added damage? Anyway let's assume it is for the worst case scenario) then she gets 90 effective attack. My micaiah has 62 resistance after buffs (possibly more with drives, which I do use) and the damage of the attack will be reduced by 30% due to her tome. She also has 44 HP (+10 and summoner support)
I would probably bait it with Sheena though. My sheena has 59 res after buffs, along with 54 HP and Guard Axe. I frequently use her to bait even red foes (only when my most efficient play is to bait 3 colors at the same time, which is not often but still a consideration). She also has Vengeful fighter and Aether, if the first enemy does not kill her (which they won't really) then she will heal.
If I give summoner support to sheena then it would be a joke, but I really prefer it on Micaiah, she is more versatile on AR, double distant defense, 30% reduced damage from bow/mage cavs, double distant defense and effective damage against 2 types.

I think weapon triangle does get applied to the boost on Blizzard because the tome says "adds penalties on opponent to unit's atk" rather than to damage dealt, which is what blade tomes say.
How much def does Micaiah have? I'm guessing enough that Saizo does no damage.
62 res debuffed to 56, 90 atk into 56 is 34, glimmer adds 17 for 51. Thani takes off 15, so she will survive a hit. How's your atk and spd though? If you only have 49 atk after the debuff, effectiveness + weapon triangle disadvantage only allows you to hit for 59 potential damage and Gunnthra will tank it and maybe double. (Also, if you don't have vantage, Reinhardt might finish her with a moonbow, depending on which tile you try to tank from)
Sheena wins very convincingly.

Her attack is 58 (no buff there, I only use Hone Cav for a blade tome spring catria, no attack tactics for the other units). I can bring her to 61 if I move first and dance with Axura
Her effective defense is 42 (30 against melee but I will not use her to bait melee units unless I leave 1 red unit for last and I need 1 more turn to break a pot)
Her base speed is 34. Effective 40 with 2 drives (which I always bring with Aversa and the Dancer), can be brought to 43 with axura. Also don't forget you get -3 spd from Aversa.
Btw, reinhard can't proc moonbow because she has guard. Gunthra can only proc glimmer with LHector + quickening pulse, but you can only give quickening pulse to 1 unit.

Reinhardt's moonbow will not hit. I put QP on Gunnthra.
Gunnthra might double if you mess up, and only if. If you try to bait from where my bolt tower is, Saizo gets shoved so Gunnthra gets +4 from goad cavalry and +4 from Saizo's spur. With Aversa's debuff it's 41 spd, plus Saizo has debuffed Micaiah for 6 points. If you bait from any other square it's a draw.
Also, I took another look at the vs Sheena matchup. Theoretically, Gunnthra might win. 75 atk into (59 - 6) res is 22 base damage, and glimmer adds 11. That's 55 damage. But in practice she probably doesn't because Saizo hits first; Sheena doubles, and aether is charged. So Sheena will heal on her first counterattack, plus Gunnthra has effectively 46 physical bulk (not counting Aversa's debuff) so she dies in one hit anyways.
