AR "Bonus" Lift

So someone pointed out to me that there's now bonus lift in AR. You get more lift per win when using units with a light blessing and if you use Eir, you get more lift too. You also get more lift depending on Eir's merge level (If anyone could explain that a bit further, that's the main point of this question besides to rant)...

So why the hell is IS pandering further to the whales? It was a pain in the ass getting to the top 3k, but now because I no longer put as much money into the game I'm going to be slowly screwed over in Aether Raids? What the actual hell? I can understand the blessing effects, but to then give whales a further advantage by increasing lift via merges is BS. Even if it's just 1 lift per merge(Fairly certain it is... but I'm not 100% sure) that's still stupid and will add up. You damn well know anyone in the top thousand is going to have close to, if not, a +10 Mythical unit.

I enjoyed AR because there wasn't the restrictions that Arena had. You didn't HAVE to worry about BST bins. You didn't HAVE to worry about who got the kills. You didn't HAVE to worry about merge level... Sure, you still have to have a bonus character on your team for that additional lift, but with 5 units you can make that sacrifice.

The only thing you should really worry on is grails. After I saw the merge bonus point bs IS implemented, ive decided to just make a bonus unit team and just try my best to get up there without killing my wallet, besides... these whales have to defend there spot too so it feels good knocking them down a rank or 2 with a good built team most players can make

I suppose. It's more of the principle though. Being able to work my way up to the top 3k seemed like an achievement. The only thing restricting you was your team and your tactics. Just seems like adding the Mythic merge bonus is a kick in the balls.

The first half of the description says it calculated extra lift like so:
(# of light mythic heroes) x (# of light blessed heroes) x 10
So on a team of 4, it would be best to have 2 light mythic heroes and 2 light blessed heroes to get (2 x 2 x 10) 40 extra lift.
On a team of 5 -> either 2 mythic and 3 blessed or 3 mythic and 2 blessed (60 extra lift)
On a team of 6 -> 3 mythic heroes and 3 blessed heroes (90 extra lift)

The second half of the description says that another boost to lift is calculated like so:
(# of merges to the mythic hero) x 10
So this does directly attract whales because F2P players usually don't care for merges unless they happen to come across a 5 star hero that they already have or have enough feathers for a merge project (sadly neither of those happen to me).
I'm not too sure if this is a separate boost or it somehow combines with the first boost, but lets say it's separate.
The best way to utilize this would obviously be to merge 11 Eirs together to get a +100 lift boost. I also think this boost could be used several times, if you had multiple +10 mythic heroes, you could add hundreds to your lift boost from a single battle.

The second boost description actually says "Boost is limited to the number of times the unit is merged x 1"
So I think this means that if you had a +10 mythic hero they would only gain an extra 10 lift, which actually isn't that bad.
So if you are a F2P player, the best thing you can do to increase lift is to use multiple mythic heroes with multiple blessed allies. Rather than worrying about merging them.
