A very good option, yes, among others. I'm thinking of Galeforce (used with Flashing Blade seal for instance) in particular.

If using galeforce, its better to go for spd refine.

The only time his effect will come into play its poking wary fighter units (surtr) or fast units (karla)

His damage stat is a bit too low for it I think, possibly something like Aether would work better?

Yeah this is my opinion too - it's not a solution to damage issues he can have from low atk

Wary fighter, QR, guard, brazens, atk/spd push, any of these HP-sensitive skills can activate or deactivate as combat begins after an AoE special. That's why vantage is so dangerous for AoE special units.

So yes, you can potentially crack his wary fighter with a blazing AoE.
