Anyone else just really wish for the good old days of VG?

I really want the devs to change VG back to what it originally was and really was supposed to be, a popularity contest. I think they have some idea that they need to make it fair for the heroes who aren’t popular like the askr heroes, but it just destroys the whole concept. If its a popularity contest (which it is) why do the unpopular heroes need a chance? If they don’t deserve the win why should that team get the win? Picking your team used to be a strategical thing (unless there’s tharja) but now you can pick whoever you want and its still 50/50. I know the devs will never read this, but it still really sucks and IS needs to do something to make this mode something enjoyable, not just a race to get the last multiplier.

I just wish VG never existed in the first place. I hate trying to do the air math meme to figure out who’s gonna win so i can extort as many feathers as possible but most of the time i end up being wrong and lose out on feathers. So yeah, this game mode can choke xoxo

Eh, I don't really want a popularity contest either. There really is no way of incorporating Voting Gauntlet to please everyone. I just wish it wasn't a thing, or at least people didn't take it so seriously.

Oh I really enjoy voting gauntlet. I enjoy watching to see who will win and lose. Yeah I want my team to win but I don't win to often. I also enjoy to see which of my feh friends are on the same team as me. But makes sense it is not for everyone.

Honestly, the old Voting Gauntlet kinda sucked because all of the losers would just join the winner's team, and that would make the final round so skewed that it wasn't fun.

That isn't to say the the new one isn't rage-inducing either. It really isn't fair for a clear favorite to suddenly lose the final round. As heavily flawed as it is, at the very least, the two characters are on a more even playing field so no one just gets stomped to oblivion.

The only thing that I can think of is to just hide the scores from everyone and just present multipliers as an indicator when one side is winning. That way, no one really knows how much to contribute in all of the other rounds and might make the final few rounds less important, but I really don't know.

I don't like the strategy in VG. The way I see it, the only strategy is picking a team and choosing when to use your feathers. Strategy in fighting opponents is irrelevant because you can try as many times as you want if you lose. I liked it back when you could lose your vote if you lose the fight. Idc if the fights could sometimes be unfair or unwinnable. It encourages you to have better friends.

VG uses random pairings why else would it keep asking me if I want to friend these people who love leaving blanks in their support skills.

Absolutely not, this is better. I've seen enough Touhou popularity polls to get tired for life, here it'd be Ike instead of Reimu.

From the almost half a year playing FEH there is not a single VG in which I understand how a character wins. During the earlier VGs it was much better as things aren't that biased as of now (with all the Tharjas and etc) but still, I feel that two key flaws are present.

1. Too many people see VG too much as a feather giveaway. This is why people complain about not winning and such, I guess.
2. Sure, the multipliers are there to add spice up to the battles, but not all fans can blast their flags off during the multipliers at the same time.

*Spoken from a FGrima supporter who was totally confused at what went wrong. A few hours before the closure, she was leading.

Like I said at the end of my original post, its all up to who gets the last multiplier. So I guess the way VG works is that the hero who sucks gets the win. Explains why Shanna won a VG a while back! Maybe VG is an unpopularity contest and it just turns out that Ike is worse than Grima so hes doing better!
